I finally got time today to put all the decals on. I wasn't sure if I was going to put them on as I thought it looked good without them. Eventually I got tired of thinking about whether to put them on or not and just did it. So I guess this is the final look of my "Patty".

    Super8,

Looks good. I like those Cirrus graphics better than the Goodrich.

Any of you crashers have a set of wings for the patty? I crashed mine on a deadstick and I'm rebuilding. I bought a replacement fuse.. Soooo cheap and easy...and the wheel pants went thru the wings.. So instead of fixing maybe I'll buy.. Pm me ..

    Later,

    Dan

It's so good to see that this thread is still going. The Patty is a great bird and has been around for a while now, however despite the advent of composite airframes and better manufacturing technics the patty is still up there with the best. I love my Patty and she still impresses everybody at the field with her great colours, clear graphics and outstanding cowl. I have a DL 50 in mine that will literally tear the wings off if flying at full throttle. When building mine I kept her on a diet to reduce her weight as much as possible. I have a single servo for the rudder mounted in the centre with pull / pull cable and the fuel tank mounted at CofG on the wing tube. keep up this thread - a great plane like the patty deserves it

Well I broke down and bought a new set of wings. I agree .. This is an awesome plane and is still holding the test of time. It may be a little heavier than some new stuff, but it survives transport much better..

    Keep up the thread..

I managed to get her down to just under 7Kgs (15 pound). Thats with 2 x 6V battery packs and switches for Rx and a 4.5 pack for CDI. I removed all the excess weight from the canopy floor and bits and pieces of "non load bearing" balsa and ply. I'm still looking for a C.F wing tube to replace the alloy one. Dan - glad you got a new set of wings, she deserves them.

Yes.. My only flight with her was fantastic! It went up vertical with no problem. I should have kept an eye on the fuel bottle, but I didn't and came in dead stick. I was going long and then I double thumbed it and it went into the ground. Fuji 64ei good engine..

No - Jtec. Really good quality and sounds great (not too noisy) as well.

OK, mine is the Bisson and it sticks out a bit too. I was thinking about getting the Jtec someday to see if it didn't stick out as much. It must though as your cutout looks to be about the same size as mine. You can see it in this pic.
