I know. Soon...soon.

The ground here is still really wet from rain and snow. Even my local R/C track suspended racing this weekend. Looks like we'll be getting more rain this week too. I hope to have some off-road video soon.

That is a very nice video, I'm like Nitro, it looks on the pavement, but that truck is really needing some dirt to sink it's teeth into, and I'm sure it will look great doing it when you get a chance to make soem off road video.

Music to video was great also, very smooth and relaxing, I would rather hear the vehicle screaming by and not a bunch of grunge garbage that got mistakenly called music for some unknown reason like on most of the Tube videos.

So since the electrics really dont make much sound you made a nice choice for tunes.

Peace

tamiya connectors SUCK!
even on the stock battery they can over-heat and warp. just happened on my friends caldera. the tamiya plugs warped bad enough that the plugs stuck together. i put deans on it for him.
upgrade to deans/traxxas style plugs ASAP, especially if you plan on using nimh with more cells or going lipo.

okay well i don't have a soldering iron, so do you think my LHS would do it for me even if it may cost a little? or what is a good inexpensive soldering iron?

your LHS might do that for you. LHS's all differ, so you will have to ask them.

you can buy deans plugs with pre-soldered length of wire on them. that way you can just splice the wires together and put electrical tape over the connection. doesnt look as nice, but works well. my LHS has them in packs of 1 male and 1 female set.

i use a cheapo soldering iron from radio shack. there are nicer models, but for solder connectors(which is the only thing i do) it works OK.

well cut them off right behind the tamiya plugs, so you will have plenty of wire to work with.
on the ESC, you can cut both wires at the same time.

on the battery however, cut one wire(doesnt mattery which one) and twist the wire with the deans plug wires, tape it up. then cut the other wire.
if you cut both wires off, you risk touching the 2 bare wires and youll get a big old spark! been there, dont that.

with the wires on most RC stuff today, the stuff is kinda thick. this makes it hard to twist 2 together.
so, i take each end and split the wire into 2 parts. then twist the 4 parts together.
think of it like twisting 2 smaller pony tails together instead of one larger one.

soldering is the better way to go, no doubt. im just to dang lazy!

a good soldering iron and good solder will help.
most likely your hobby shop will have a kit.
i just use a cheap $10 iron from radio shack. its a pain, but it gets the job done.

dont forget to get some shrink tubing. it goes on the wire, then when you solder the wire onto the plug you move the tubing over the connection and heat it so it shrinks and makes a nice tight seal over the metal.
you can also just use electrical tape. i like to use both. shrink tubing with some e-tape over that. this helps alot cause the deans plugs are small and can be difficult to pull apart sometimes. the extra e-tape give my hands more to grab onto.

Yup, That's what I'm using too.   They have a nice tight fit, and are easy to solder.   Have changed over the ESC and three batteries so far, and are holding up great.
