Who's got the best price on a Triton Charger? Does GP threaten their dealers with price fixing? Why is every dealer I found through a Yahoo search selling the charger for exactly the same price, $129?

They definitely don't fix prices, because I've seen ones for $130 :

I am reasonably sure that GP, along with Horizon, has a minimum advertised price (MAP) policy. You can sell it for less...but you can't advertise for less. That's why some of the ads will say "call for the best price".

Have one now from Tower paid $129 which is $129 more than it is worth!!Back to using my old Accu-Cycle at least it works.Sent it back once they sent new one no better than other one.Only use on Ni-Cads never get a consistent charge.I would surely look at posts re;chargers and think seriously before buying a Triton!Good Luck!

How was your Triton acting up? I've had excellent results with mine. Do you want to sell cheap?

Was thinking would try to get them to take it back don't know if will have any luck. They replaced it once already!Mainly use it for NiCads.try to use the disc-chge cycle.may dis 700Ma but only put back 100Ma.That kind of thing loose faith in it.Have tried changineg that setting that goes up to 15 think it says to set about 7 but at 12 can get it to place more charge.aLso don't like the fact will only charge one battery.Use the Accu-cycle as in spite of its shortcomings charges 2 batteries and then goes to trickle.Haven't had opportunity to see if it will charge Li-Pos etc but want to try electrics but if can't handle Ni-Cads don't know about the others.I think there instructions are very poor found more help on the RCU site where Red discuss how to use it but even following his directions don't have much luck.Again sometimes it will work fine on a battery too.Have to get in gear and get after tower to try to get it figured out or get another new one to try.Have been temporarily distracted trying to get a Trackerll radio working or at least figured out,but that is another story!!Glad yours is working good, think I need a book Triton for Dummies then if I can get a Trackerll for dummies should be in good shape!

I've heard a lot of complaining here in this forum about the Triton and still don't get it . I have not had one problem with this charger that wasn't my own fault. The latest version of the manual took away any any questions I had about how to use this charger. The last page of this new manual is the most informative part of the whole manual.

http://www.electrifly.com/manuals/gpmm3150-manual-v1_1.pdf

I think a lot of people are just confused by the menu system they seem to want a separate button for each function. If you can't program a VCR you should probably stay away from this charger.

Watch out for those crummy charge leads Hobbico is selling. They have poor connections at the banana plugs. Just hook your battery up to a DVM and wiggle where the wire enters, you'll see the voltage go all over the place. Leads like this will give a Triton fits.

My Triton works great. I have the accucycle plus which is good but nowhere near what the Triton can do. What type of power supply are you using? You need one which is highly filtered.

Ditto on the Leads.
I think that a lot of the complaints start there.
There are several of us using it here and no complaints. As it is a "sensing unit" the wiring has to be good or it will terminate the charge.

My unhappiness with the triton does revolve around incinsistent charging. This sounds like what you fellows are mentioning in re;to the leads.WHat doyou use for leads instead of the Tower ones? These leads seem to work on the Accu-Cycle!Just did a Disc-Charge.on a charged up 900Ma battery. When done showed a charge of 90Ma,I would think it should have been around the 900 figure, yet checked battery with a loaded meter showed 100% charge?

Most people in the battery realm feel that the accucycle is a paper weight..
I feel the same way
when charging any battery can you adjust what you are charging your pack at..
if you cannot then you need to find a charger that does
If you are only charging little 4.8 flight packs that are Nicad you still need to charge at a C factor
to ensure saftey of your equiptment and people flying with you.
The triton does both that
But I feel also that you should alway charge on a C factor over night with a Ddvc or something close then use your triton to top off your Cells esp on teh Bigger Six Volt Nicad Packs you will see a Pack wich lasts longer.
If you are using any other type battery cell like Nimh Or LIPO it is the only charger I would use.
Most NiMh Second Generation Cells Have to be charged on At C or you can do damage
and Lipo has there Percent or they can heat up and be damaged or Go on Fire.
These are thing to think about ..
