My eye's are a lot older than yours and I have the same problem with the Ducty, so I put some metal tape on the LE, does not show well in the pic, but does in the air, it reflects any light that is available and shows a glint when coming towards me, may help.

Spooky...I ordered pro trim this morning to do the leading edges with a chrome panel as I used on my Bandit arf...for exactly that reason!

More Habu 32 flying today, five flights in blue skies and a warm day in North London, it was flat calm, yet the Habu 32 didn't struggle on take off or landing.

To run? A 4ltr bottle of parafin from Homebase is £6, that will do 7 flights...but that misses the point with a turbine costing nearly 2k. I did notice that at the end of my days flying my fuel container felt no different from when we arrived!
It's a lot cheaper than one of my P-160 powered models at £6-12 per flight! (£12 with smoke)
The idea of the P-20 was for a model you can grab and go, I did not even get the wings on my UF today!

i don't think it does miss the point.
i could justify building building a model £2-3,000 but after the initial outlay i couldn't afford to be paying £6+ per flight as you mention for a P-160 powered model. but £6 for a good days flying probably makes it cheaper than running a large Glow powered model.

Even if not counting the £ in jetfuel the whole size aspect makes it cheaper. Less volyme to bring to the field = smaller car = cheaper.

Specially if traveling to a meeting far away. Fireing up the Grand Cherokee for Jetpower would set me back half a P-20 in gas haha. Well I can fit quite a large model in my V70 Diesel too but not 3 friends and their P-160 planes. With Habu's that would be fully possible.

The thing for me is the grab and go. My year is very busy with events, I spend too many weekends away from home at meetings, where I can take the big/complicated models. When I fly locally I normally arrive at the field 10.30 and leave at 1.30. This means I can do family stuff either side of this time. If I take a bigger model like the Tutor, I need more time to assemble/disassemble the model. The P-20 models arrive ready to go, sometimes I pre fill the tank and add a stopper, with electric retracts, I arrive, un plug, switch on and go...This is how I can do 4-6 flights in a short time and get time to fly other electric stuff.

For all you UK flyers waiting for your '32's to arrive, we've got some blinged up trailing link retract sets in stock. Units are the drop in E-flite electric retracts you would need for the Habu but have had the plastic trunion replaced with a CNC machined aluminium version for extra strength / less wear and a full set of trailing link legs and axles specifically made for the Habu by Tamjets.

I had ordered some of these for some small projects I am working on and of course needed a set for my Habu so thought I would get a batch in for anyone who wants them over here.

Hi Dave,

Wow, so you’re quite familiar with the Spark! Im yet to see one fly in person. Which fan/motor/cell combo do you have in both of yours?

Back on thread. I saw a couple of your P-20 Habu 32 flights, very nice indeed. It appeared to be on rails, very stable from low speed passes all the way up through the range, and a fantastic sound

Although they say the bigger they are the easier they can be to fly, the P-20 Habu 32 looked like a great possible intro to turbine ownership to me.

Dave,

Yes after Florida jets Tam upgraded the springs on the mains to cope with rough terrain. They seem just right now for the weight of the model.

DS75 Lehner/Spin 99 10s Thunderpower 10s 5000. and DS 75 Plettenberg Dino 70 YG180 11-12s Thunderpower 45c 5000mAh. Though I fly 11s 90% of the time.

If your in North London we can meet at PMFC sometime and you can see the Spark in the flesh.
The Habu 32 is great, if your lucky you might see the EDF version and turbine on the same day at the same field
