Done. Super Easy. The AMA just wants a quick number of emails to push this through. EMAIL,EMAIL,EMAIL.

ORIGINAL: irocbsa

No idea what number I am, I wrote my own personalized email. However, I did forward the link onto our club for those who want to use the form letter.

Also, don't waste your time sending in a snail mail letter. Due to all the paranoia generated from the anthrax scares after 9/11, all House/Senate/Executive mail goes through a lengthy screening and rerouting process. It can take weeks for your letter to arrive, and once it does they might not even read it. Not to mention that the "mass mailing" effect that the AMA is trying to create will long have passed. One thing you have to learn about politicians is that they rarely actually care about anything personally. They usually don't take action on anything until "outrage" or "imminent threats" are manufactured by some outside entity (media, lobbyists, interest groups like ours) that gives them something to latch onto for a week in order to stand on their taxpayer funded pulpit and garner media attention that will then be used in their next re-election campaign. We need to put this on their radar. That's the only way.

That's an excellent point, irocbsa.  I wonder if the AMA has considered a campaign to get this important issue out to the public through the news media.

                 Mike

No. 53 yesterday ... Just printed it out 3 times and going to Snail Mail it also, to all three reps. Maybe I'll send it to all the wisconsin congressmen. If I live in Arizona 6 months and Wisconsin 5 months, Can't I send it to the Arizona Senators and congressmen too. Just might do that.

HoundDog-
You can send a copy to everyone on Capitol Hill but the letters that really count are the ones that come from the voter rolls...make sure you are registered to vote...yes they do check.

Sent it any way, explained I was a Snow Bird from Wisconsin and winter in Apache Junction Ariaona for the explicate reason to fly R/C all winter. I also explained I spend half my Retirement Income here in Arizona. and that we all need their help to keep the FAA from Regulating a thriving industry (in witch thousands are makeng their lively hood ) out of extiance.

Being a pilot and Public School Teacher, you can say I don't like or trust large bureaucratic agencies! So the FAA and the Dept. of Ed. have a love hate relationship! I love to hate them!

627th from Texas. Changed "absurd" to an overreaction though. Dont like this term even though it is true. Calling ones (especially a government org) ideas or proposals absurd comes across as unprofessional.
