1/5.5 Scale SU-34
Ok, here we we go.
I have been working on this project for almost 2 years. First getting the SU-34 CAD drawings and Landing gear to exact scale. I'm currently searching for someone that can build the large 17 inch struts for the LG and 7.2 inch wheels.( talking to John at Matrix MTMC to see if he will tackle the project). Scratch building is a pain but worth it just to see this baby fly. I wasn't going to post a thread until the model was ready for flight but I'm in need of assistance and guidance. I'm attaching pics from the beginning to date of my progress.
Any constructive critisism is always welcomed.
Model: Sukhoi-34
Scale: 1/5.5
Lenght:13.92' feet
Wing Span:8.38' feet.

OLNICO: Reference to the LG I'm working on the .iges and STL files and need someone to cut (CNC) the struts for me. Also I need to find where I can get 7.2 inch wheels for the main gears. I emailed Glennis Aircraft for custom wheels and after weeks I got an email that they no longer tooling for special sets of wheels.[&:]
WHODAMAN: Thanks for the message. I'm planning on make into a kit. For a large kit there's lots of logistics involved.
Delgatogrande: We got more room. we moved everything to my garage.
If anyone out there knows of someone that needs work and would like to takle the LG or wheels I will greatly appreciate it.

Heres the rendering of the scale cockpit. Sorry for the quality I tried multiple time to attach the rendering from solidworks but i think the file is too big. So I had to print and scan it. I will send better rendering when I figure it out.
Im in the process of rapid prototyping this cockpit. Its 11 inches in lenght will all the switches and handles. I am currently working on a 1/5th scale K-36 ejection seat. Now that's going to be a doozie.

Great bird! Can't wait until you get it in the air.
For all your metal parts try Dave Hood at Turn Zone in Texas. He made a lot of my parts for a F-14 that I'm building, great guy.
Good luck.

Andy,
I usually use 3d max on all my 3d projects but is not a good software for rapid prototype or CNC. So I'm learning how to use solidworks. This rendering is done on solidwork. hope this answered your question.

AYRTONSENNA,
Thanks for the PM. I apologize for not posting any more on the SU. I'm back in Iraq and its hard to get the project when I'm away. My buddy is working on it as we speak but he's one of those guys that hates computer(dont know how to use them) so I have no updated pictures.
I finally got the cockpit done and currently working on the refueling probe and ECMs antenas. Im still having problems finding someone to make the landing gear for me and Im getting frustrated. If anyone has a friend that is good and needs the work please please let me know.
