My jet is flyin again. I just gluel the wing back in placed, glued some balsa filler to the missing parts and filled the minor imperfectiosn with microballons and epoxy.

Will not due all the extra work to leave it like new.

Returned to the wemo fan and used a het 2 w motor. MORE THAN ENOUGH POWER.

CHEERS

Hi Juan

Glad to hear you got your Ta-183 back together! Looks like it got into a fur ball with some P-51's! and Just write it off as battle damage!

Today went to the flying field to fly some more this jet.  It looks awesome in the air an getting more confortable.

Every thing was going perfect until I decided to give it  a try with a loop. Had read this bird can get intona flat spin if not  carefull. So climbed to get some altitud in case of any mishaps and started the loop. At the top of the loop the plane entered into a belly up flat spin tha I coul not recover from. Were was my ruder? The good part is that the jet looked awesome spiraling down to earth. The damage sufered was minor, broke again the same wing and hurt the nose which is a plastic.

Will fix it and lesson learned No loops or any climbing manuver that looses speed.

German pilots were lucky this jet did not make it to production since would have been a death trap.

Cheers

Juan

Hi Juan

Sorry to hear your Huck went in again. Yep that is very true if the Huck gets in a flat spin it is hard to recover and with no rudder for get it. Glad it is repairable this shows you built it very strong. But I think the stall was more from loss of air speed then inverted flight I have seen many Hucks even the RBC Huck loop just fine the key is keeping the air speed up and don't make the loop to big. You may even want to put the Huck into a shallow dive to gain more air speed before entering the loop. I'm taking you put the wemo edf unit back in it how does she seem to fly with it? Good luck on the rebuild and I agree the Ta-183 looks awesome in the air and very sinister as well!

Doug

I also read that the general design will get into flat spins when stalled, that you cannot get out of. I got a number of flights on a Yak23 scratch build, where I eventually got tired of repairs, etc. Got it into a stall once, and never experienced anything like it. Perfect flat spin where throttle and control inputs did nothing.

Hi Doug

The wemo fan pro 480 with het 2w is more than enough power for this plane. It takes full trhotle and a long run to take off but once in the air you go to half throtle. Using spoilerons prior to landing helps slow speed, and the plane feels solid at slow speed for landing. Think the landing is the best part. Looks awesome !!!!!

will fly this bird conservative and build another that will be more acrobatic and no nasty habits.

Have a KA l39 for 70 mm in kit which say is a very good plane.

Got her at the swap page a El Bandido 90mm sport jet.

Need more time for building and not repairing.

Cheers

Juan

Fixing this bird has begun.

This time I broke one of the spars.

Glued with epoxy  carbon rod to the broken spar that now only serves for alignmet.

Glued the front intake lip broken parts with CA. Will have to sand add filer and then glass the damage area.

This time will have to paint all the repairs to make this bird look good again.

NO MORE  LOW SPEED MANUEVERS!!!!!!

Will remaiden this bird this Sarturday.

Had to balance again the plane.  Since added  lead to the front in order to balance the plane after the rapair had to grind off some lead to keep the wheight as before. So for the moment have no increase wheight after the repair.

 Cheers

Juan

That was a good repair job by not adding weight. Did you get to re-maiden the Ta-183 yesterday? Hope she flew well!

Bad Lemon:

The remaiden went OK. Loosed a tire while checking the ground handling before the the take off.

Have flown  this plane 4 times since then.

This saturday went to fly it with no problems.
