hi, anyone can help me.
I tryed my P47 whith carf propeller, manual show pitch must be 14", but i tryed it and moki 250cc was a failure, it was stop by ignition system protection, because it was very hot.
I have a friend who tryed at the same weekend and happened the same.
anybody use a 2 blade propeller? if yes , is it 32x16?
Maybe carf manual is wrong ? it must be less pitch ? for example 30x11?
THANKS IN ADVANCE

I have finished My P47.
I have set the prop to 11 "units" on the prop so the result is 30*14 for the prop.
Here a short video of the first engine test with the 30*14 prop:

and some pics.
I have planned to make the first flight at the end of october.
The only question I have if the elevator compensation with the flaps. If some one can give me some advise I will be very happy.
Best regards.
Fifou

How you know that it has got bad cooling and bad airflow? Moki only work on the air? After my friend and me meet the motor failure , we tryed whithout cow, and happened the same , i calculate the propeller load rate and 30x14 is  25% more than moki manual say. My question is anybody is flying whith carf  4 blades whith 14 pitch ? I am not asking if anybody will try 30x14, thanks

Fifou, your Thunderbolt looks very nice. I think, that you chose good painting.
Do you have some more pictures and 3 view colour drawing?

Hello Prekin.
Thanks you for your message.
I have found pics on internet for the scheme here : P-47
I have used only this pics to make the paint.
After I have made all the nomenclature of the plane and the marking with my plotter.
I can sell you all the rub on decals to paint all the nomenclature on the plane if you want it.
About the cockpit on pictures I have used the balsa dynamic kit.

If you are interested by the nomenclature or by the rub on decal to make the ameican star or the front bird contact me.
Best regards.
Philippe

Thank you very much for the link, Philippe.
I´m not building P-47 now, but I still think about it. If I build it, it will be 2m wingspan.
Is it problem for the decals? I think that your one is bigger.
Thank you for your offer.

Philippe ,

the Dynamic Balsa cockpit looks very nice ! I have this and will use several parts from it , .. I opted for most of the parts from www.iflytailies.com/ for my P-47 though . Between the two, i think I will have most of the scale stuff crammed in there ...

I really am getting anxious to finish the P-47. This project has been on my work bench since last year. But with a new baby at home and with the huricane coming through a few weeks ago its been slow. Heres some shorts of my cockpit dash panel so far I figured I'd share here. I have been keeping the rest of my build under the Metalmorphing P-47 thread .

Not really. The manual is very well written. On my kid i did not have to shave/cut/angle the main gear support blocks. The gear fit and lined up perfectly and I juts needed to drill the mounting holes.

The canopy mounting method is the only thing I'd recommend deviating on , but that's to make it a sliding canopy ..

Im surprised more people are not building there :\

its taking longer than expected .. ( a new baby will do that ) but its close to maiden ... polishing out and some nomenclature ( over 300 pieces of it , lol ) still needed ...
