Those retracts look pretty good. Let us know how well they hold up. For the $$$, I'm impressed.

Le t me explain RCISFUN

The TAMJET struts are only an UPGRADE to the EFLITE 15-25 retracts you buy for your habu. What you do is you go by the pdf instruction manual file and it shows you how to modify your EFLITE retracts to accomodate your TAMJET struts.  Very good step by step easy modification and your done.  Once you finish you will notice the diference in strengh and stability with your new struts compared to the wired struts the retracts bring.  So you do not need any extra servos or anything like that.  Just open the PFD instruction file and it you will understand how it is done.  My habu 32 disintigrated into many pieces about a week ago and I am in the process of rebuilding it with another kit.  I managed to save the retracts and most electronics and I am looking forward to having it in the air again.  This plane flies so well and fast that it deserves another chance.  Anyway, Hope this helps you.

I am still not sure,...but it was my error for sure.  The plane had no fault at all.  The plane was far away and  I was making a sharp left turn when i guess the sun cast a bad shadow on the plane and i lost orientation.  The plane is fast so It only took one MILI second of that loss of orientation to bring it down. Once i saw that shadow I knew i was in trouble.  I tried keeping it up and I almost got it under conrtoll again. If I would have been a little higher in the air I would have had more of a chance to gain control again. But i was too low and before i knew it I was picking up the pieces from the grass.  It NOSE dove into the ground.  The entire front half of the plane literally disintegraded into nothing. I lost 4 servos, the front nose gear ( eflite retract only, the tamjet strut survived ), battery was total loss, and receiver was a loss as well.  I managed to save the motor and fan, 3 servos including the elevator servo, the wing retracts still work perfect, and the ESC still works as well.  So instead of spending around $1000 for everything, I will only spend $414 to replace it all.  I already had a spare fusalage so I only need the wings ,stabs and hardware to complete the kit, plus the other servos and nose retract.  She'll be up in the air again come this February or early march.

Very sorry that happened to you, but, I know it's very possible. Toward the end of flying season here in pa last fall, I lost orientation twice in a period of 2 weeks. It really scared the bejeebers out of me and I put the jet away for the balance of the season figuring I needed a break from 120+ mph flying (I recovered both times). Being 66 yrs old, my eye are giving me a little trouble too. Luckily, there are lots of spare parts available for the Habu32 which makes a crash not quite as expensive. Thank goodness, it's not a $5000+ turbo. Best of luck when you do the rebuild.

Thanks !

I could never get my self a jetworth $5000, unless I was rich.  I can't bare to see that money go up in smoke in a matter of seconds as my jet did.  Not so say my wife would divource me and throw me to the wolves ! !  LOL,..$10000 on a habu is actually over my spending limit.  I will post updates and pics of my rebuild.

Yeah,...

Your retracts from dreamworks look very similar to the ones hobbyking offers for a lot less money and they don't have great ratings on hobbyking either.  I don't know the quality of these retracts but because of the ratings I stayed away from them when looking for upgrades for my HAbu.  It's too expensive of a plane to risk on these cheap looking retracts.  But that's just my thought.  I kept the eflite 15-25 and added the Tamjet upgrades.  They are top quality and have the reputation to back it up.  All in all,..its your decision to make ! !  Remember sometimes going cheap can bight you ! !

I guess I'll be a guinea pig!

I won my Habu 32 so I have zero $$$ invested

I ordered the retracts ($49.20), for what the Tam units cost I can buy six sets of these... I have a problem justifying a set of retracts that cost almost the same amount as the airframe, besides I fly off of a runway so it shouldn't be an issue.

The battery:

And the fan and motor:

I have a brand new fresh from the Factory Castle ICE 100 back from the recall so hopefully it won't give me any problems.

After I receive the retracts and fan I will, post some photos

Well I finally received my Hobby King Order, and all I can say is WOW!

The Fan is definitely manufactured by RC Lander, it is written on the fan!

The retracts look to be more than adequate for the task!
The struts are VERY HEAVY DUTY for this size of model.
I tested the electric retracts with my servo tester, all three were alive and well!
I would not hesitate in the least to recommend these retracts, the only thing that might break is the plastic mounting plates, (Actually a good thing). New plates could be made out of Aluminum sheet or G-10 board.
When I get a chance I will get some photos and Cad drawings of the retract mounting plates.
All for now....

Well I flew my habu for the first time today! Mine has the efflux 8s motor as well as a 5000 mah 6s battery and a 5000 mah 2s battery in series, they are the turnigy nanotech batteries too. I have the hitec aurora 9 with the telemtry setup with gps. the max speed was 162 and my wife observed the gps readout with a sustained 151 mph while maintaining altitude and going both directions. not really any wind today maybe 1 to 2mph at the most, (im a cropduster by trade therefore we always say the winds blowing due to the types of products we disperse around other sensitive crops) This is my first "real" jet and I found it to be well within my capabilites as far as control and speed. The airplane flies really well and im looking forward to flying her some more this year, Im going to charge the batteries up tomorrow to see what kind of mah drain the batts took and to do a once over on the airframe to see how she did.

Sorry to hear about you guys accident, that would not be cool.

Well now im hooked on this edf jet thing, im looking on hobbyking at some of their scale fiberglass edfs now

Let us know if you find any fiberglass EDFs that would be a step up from the Habu. I couldn't find one with retracts and flaps unless I spend $1500.

Hobbykings 90mm VIPERJET ( RED ) is beautiful and huge. Bigger than the Habu. The thing is. they bring no manual, no CG location,..nothing. AND also, they say the wings are so thin that it is almost imposible to put retracts on it. I have seen people bungi launch it on youtube. Its really a shame because this jet would be a nice upgrade in size and looks to the HABU 32. If anyone out there knows how to put retracts on it let me know. I would love the have one.
