Hi Mike

I have the same engine just started running it and have the exact same problem if it is a problem. I'm an aircraft mechanic and really don't understand whats going on here, my biggest concern is damageing my new engine it also makes a squeaking noise at lower rpm sometimes. Keep you posted.

The squeek you hear is the Valves/retainers and springs, and lifters...
Always spray them up with WD-40 and then some sort of good lubricant.
Being the valves have covers, you can put just about anything on them, because they will not get dirt on them...

See if that will take care of it....
My .91 magnum 4-stroke does the same thing...

I am a-bit of a freak, and I would pull my engine apart to see what it looks like in there..(taking note to see if enough lube)
I did on my OS twin...but now know what is going on, so no worries...

As long as you carb isn't causing you fits....I would just fly the engine and be happy....
It looks like it runs fine...
All twins, radials have uneaqual fuel distribution... (mY saito 325 5-cyl has a fan, that spits the fuel all over equally though)

A twin carb would have been better...IMHO.. But it seems to run just fine...

Yes and no...
Yes: to lower cam/lifter. In the case of a Radial...NONE gets in there... Essentially sealed off, and has to be placed in there by the factory..or end user.
NO: to the springs and rocker arms.... I see oil in the valve cover of my inverted 4-stroke, but still squeaks...
The bit that gets there, gets there by gravity...

FYI. The MOKI radails come with black grease on the cams... No oil gets in there otherwise....
From factory it is good for the 1st 100hrs of use, so you don't need to worry too much if yours has some lube on it...

For Saitos, it depends if the guy putting it together, was nice enough to place some black grease on it during the assembly process
Does yours squeek when you flip it by hand?
It is a very simple process to get grease in there...
Pull the tubes
Use a magnet to pull the cam lifter (take out the metal piece that is in the tube)
one can now look into the cams....and fill it up with some grease...Perhaps a with a plunger of sorts..??\

Even with lube that you place on it, sometimes they STILL squeek!

(I had to add, I claim to be NO EXPERT with engines. I only try to give the knowledge back that I have gained on the forums and by personal experience. Please correct me if I am incorrect)

I must say...@1000$ it is less than the glow single carb 300twin!....
Quite a feat if I must say...

I wish it was a twin carb and bearings on the cranks, but with proper lube, it should be fantastic...
It should give you many years of use just the way it is....

Side note.
I will be soon, adding twin carbs to my OS 1.60 twin Gemini...instead of the glow carb w/C&H ignition.
I am tired of all that mess and crappy runnings due hight tank placement!
I am not worried at all about the crank...It will go just fine...
Gas is good!
Thanks for posting your findings...

 Hi Guys,

I posted this on another forum but thought I'd add it to this disucssion as well. I just bought this engine (Saito FG-57T) too and the exact same thing happened. Left cylinder produces a visible exhaust and right does not, even after richening high/low mix. I've got some comments that it may be normal.

Darren

There is a nipple up front in the cam area. Allways comes some oil from it, so I have a tygon tube on it, leading the oil away.

When removing the valve covers, there is allways oil inside there as well.

I would'nt give it much more thought. I would fly it.

Here it is in action; ( Still with more oil from one cylinder than the other, after 45 flights)
