Hi Branded,

You have a very nice Zirolie P40. I have started purchasing the major components and will start building next year. On your Ziroli P40, did you use Robart 150 or Robart 150HD8?

Thanks and agian very nice Z P40.

Onewing

Hi guys,

I just bought a Yellow Aircraft P-40 and I'm sure I will need your help. I am dissabelled now from a stroke in August 2004 so I'm pretty slow now. I chose the YA because it seemed very scale and the fact it had a fiberglass fuselage didn't hurt either. My 1st question is I have chosen a Moki 1.80 for a powerplant. Is that enough power for this bird? I also have a G-62, would that be a better choice? I plan to start building next week and order the accessories frm YA week after next. Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

David

David,

You will enjoy building this airplane. I really enjoyed building it for a friend. The Moki may be a bit on the small side. I have seen a DA 50 in one of the prototypes, and my friend chose a 3w-75I for his, as he wanted to swing a 3 blade prop. The functional exhaust from Keleo Creations looks great. I hope to maiden it in the next few weeks.

When you are ready to order the rest of your parts from Y/A, Give Shawn Evans a call. He is a Y/A representative and is a real stand up guy. I had some questions regarding my build, and he promptly answered me on a Sunday!! If you search this forum, you will find all of his contact information.

Good luck and post your questions here. There is a wealth of knowledge at RCU!!!!

Regards

Craig

Serpnte your P-40 looks great. More pictures of it are definetly needed. How long, from start to finish?

Cknaack, an exhaust from Keleo Creations is definetly in the works. Does it fit on the YA okay? I have called Shaun and will definetlt contact him before I place order. I had a stroke back in August 2004 so I read RCU everyday. Good people and good ideas are found here.

If you use the keleo exhaust make sure you put a G62 on the baby...with a 21-10 prop perfect set up...Ill take some more pics and put them up on my next outing...I did this project this past winter took about 3 months working on every nite, things you should know......
1: get all the small parts before you start the kit...my mistake waiting on parts
2: If you get the exhaust from keleo give him a call about 2 months in advance
3:make sure the bed where the retracts lay is even if its warped a Little your retracts wont work
4: a G45 would work without a scale exhaust
any ? drop me a lite will be clad to help.

Thans for the advice Serpente,

I'll order all the parts as soon as someone from YA gets back to me. I have called Shaun as well as YA in Mass. I will endeavor to keep eveything as straight as possible. I'll start assuming I'm going to have a Keleo exhaust. If I don't get it in time, and I'm sure I will, I'll use a standard Pitts muffler for now. This is a great site.
