Get ready for the HobbyKing Store Front
This photo [left] was taken by a customer last night.
And here is what HobbyKing's Director has to say about it;

In an ever increasing effort to drive more value into the R/C market HobbyKing has begun piloting retail store franchises in select regions around the globe, underscoring HobbyKing's commitment to the R/C industry.
Each store will retail both HobbyKing and other branded products and will also serve as a service center for warranty and technical support.
Products sold online can be serviced in-store as well as sent back to your local service center.
At a later stage 'HobbyKing Store Front's will be filling local internet orders and pre-ordering requested items from any one of HobbyKing's warehouses locally and abroad.
We hope that the HobbyKing Store Front network combined with increased service levels and a 24hr support desk (ETA May-15) will improve quality of service and ultimately customer satisfaction.

We will let you know via email the moment a store opens in your region, in the meantime if you have a local store that you would like to see carry our products please tell them to email us at [email protected]

Wow... its the McDonald's of hobby shops! I use their batteries and chargers; great value. If it works out like they say, it should shut up the "I paid 5 times as much so I could have a warranty" crowd.

Hi guys,

I got the email too, it'll be awesome if we could get one in town. I imagine a stores like this in any downtown would sell a lot of things, very quickly.
This will give access to aggressively priced parts/kits [>:]. It's what we hobbyists need; you crash, you go buy the parts you need, and you're back up and running, none of this waiting 2 weeks for a part you need. Summer, only being 2 months long here, makes 2 weeks of wait take 25% out of your prime flight season! [:@]

Those in Canada who are familiar with NCIX will know how well a low priced, quick ship, company can do for themselves. They went from one store front to 2, 3, 4.... still growing.

I hope that HK will be as successful as NCIX, they should practice the same great pricing, stocking, mediocre customer service, and quick shipping. It's all about mediocre customer service, if you have great customer service, the price starts to get overinflated, like Future Shop or London Drugs, nobody buys parts from those places, except your grandparents.

I think it'll be easy, like Deans vs. XT60.

Here's to no more overpriced RTF kits sitting in hobbyshops collecting dust! Waiting for the unsuspecting customer who impulse buys.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. Sell a decent product at reasonable prices while other companies try to gouge their customers and you'll win every time. So much for the old argument about not having a warranty or somewhere to take product.

Wonder how long it will be before the "name brand" LiPo guys start selling at a reasonable price.

The mark up on those things is stupid.

I have a friend that works for one of the name brand companies. He's been there for years and the cells are all sourced from China and assembled at their facility. The last time I talked to him was about a year ago before the major drop in lipo prices and he told me the landed cost (delivered cost) on the bulk cells were in the low single figure range. Keep in mind this was back before you could get the cells super cheap. I would be shocked if a completed pack cost more that a few dollars today.

i see lipos at my LHS website for $100, and it always says out of stock. i always think to myself, are people that crazy to pay $100 for a lipo when hobbyking/hobbypartz have them for around $20? man am i gonna be happy if one opens up near me.
