Status: offline 		It seems they have everything else do you guys think they will ever stock a Turnigy Turbine? I'm not sure if that would be such a good thing but I never rule anything out.

Status: offline 		I can't see this happening as the market is so small. It is more likely that they'll release larger EDF units which help increase their battery sales.

Status: offline 		Larger EDF's is a good point, but I think if they can make money on turbines sales what's to stop them. Service would be another issue.

Status: offline 		Market is small because of price, but the cost of the turbine is only one factor. Airframes are also expensive, even at the 80n size. Most guys do not spend even $2k on a single model.

Status: offline 		I cant wait to see a hobbyking turbine. You would be able to watch the turbine wheels walk right out and fly across the feild and then all turbines will be banned. Lets hope they stay away from turbines. Some things cant be done half a$$ed and on the cheap.

Status: offline 		The question is at what price point does it become attractive? Even if they sold a $1000 90N turbine, you still need to fork over nearly $2k for an airframe and servos. $3k up front cost is still going to keep most people away. The only way it makes sense economically is for them to produce their own clone airframes and sell them for 50% the cost of their competitors. They've done this already for helicopters (which are pretty much junk), but I don't that'll translate into turbine aircraft. There are simply too many obstacles for your casual hobbyist (AMA waiver, field size, safety hazards, etc), which is a good thing.

Status: offline 		Airframes are not the problem any more. Yes, they are way over priced but there are a few well priced airframes out there. Look at Modellbau USA. The Tornado is priced just right and they can't keep them in.

Status: offline 		Just because Modelbau offers an inexpensive sport jet trainer does not mean prices are not an issue any more. You're really understating the current market prices or turbine airframes.

Status: offline 		If you look at the amount of actual material in a turbine, you realize that 99% of the price of a turbine is labor and mark-up. With Chinese labor costs being so low, the only thing keeping them out of the turbine market is a concept that seems totally beyond their comprehension: Quality Control. If they ever get a handle on QC, they might have a shot.

Well, keep in mind that they sent men into space using modified Russkie hardware. They did not design the Shenzhou spacecraft, just copied it and made some changes. So they did not REALLY send men into low Earth orbit; they copied the way others did it (as usual).

I guess you're just unlucky. I have owned about 60 of their batteries and only received one bad one.

Status: offline 		Your all assuming the question was if they were going to build/design/ripoff their own version of a turbine. but HK have also offered big brand name items in the past as well....

They sell Futaba radio's and equipment, are they all crap???
They sell powerbox units, are they all crap????

Don't get me wrong, not every thing they sell is good, but it's not all bad either. There are some really good and cost effective equipment that they sell. I have never really had a problem with any of the packs i have received. My turbine flies with twin turnigy voltage regs, and 3 flightmax li-po's without a drama...

Now look at the Kingtech, getting rave reviews from everyone and made in the asia block.... I for one would love to see the price HK could sell these for!!
