hey guys,
Duane says that I am really ready for everyone in 424 this year. I hope he's right, it has already cost me a fortune to get all of those secrets from him.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in K.C. on the 30th.

Coming back FAST Jesse

If any of you are wondering what race to go to that weekend - I'd highly recommend this one. The KCRC guys throw a good race, and it's always a lot of fun.

Got my fingers crossed, I'm hoping to be in town at least.

The best secrets come out after about the 8th or 9th beer....

Lots of snakers being built by the sounds of it, I like it.

Duane, the one you built looks like it has one of my composite tails on it, did you get that from Ho Ho?

composite tails are legal only in 426 and 428, right?

I have a Neme-q fuse & tail I thought I'd build a wing for, but I was thinking it would be used for 426 only, not 424

Dave,  the composite tail is on a seeker that I built for another buddy.  I had a very busy building season building 3 snakers and 2 seekers and I still owe Duane a snaker fuse and Moe a seeker fuse.  That was on top of building my new 424 weapon and painting a couple other planes.

Duane, thanks and I'm glad you like them and they are flying so well for you.

Here is a couple pictures of my new 424 weapon.

Pylondave some guys are just replacing the fuse of the viper they've been flying with the snaker kit, but if you don't have one then you would have to get a wing from someone other than Super Trc.

Well, shucks. I was hoping to get out this afternoon and fly, it's been too long - but just looked at my calendar and I have to be at UMKC this afternoon as one of the reviewing panel for the senior electrical engineering project presentations.. doubt if I'm done early enough to get to Hillsdale before dark!

There's always tomorrow, too..

Even if I'm not up to flying, I'll do my darndest to be at the race, either as a caller / helper / heckler. Can't miss the KC race, it's too good!

Gordon, its ok if you haven't flown in a while.  Crazy and out of control can be the fastest if you scare everyone else enough.

Well, only 2 more days!!! I'm STOKED, my first 424 race, 1st 3-pole course, and I get to do it all back "home" in KC where I grew up. I'm a little concerned however, my engines just don't turn up to 20K on an APC 9-6 like yours do, mine will only do about 18.5. I hope I don't get 'blown away'. At Reno, in Formula One Airracing there was a guy I knew who made a statement that I'll never forget. "Nothing slows an airplane down like a stopwatch..." See ya' on Saturday.

Jay,

I think we are going to have them open the gates around 7:30 but we won't be able to put a plane in the air that early, probably around 8:30 for the first flight.

You guys have fun and take lots of pictures.

Obviously I would expect the Noble Hill Folk of Team Show-Me-Mo Racing to reign victorious as usual.

To the Flatlanders and WIPRO crew, try your best.

Gonna really miss not seeing and racing with everyone...

AJ, we'll miss you, too. Hope you're getting some racing going where you are now!

I'm hoping to leave work early today, and at least see if my engines will start! Got three planes in the car, maybe I can even get three flights in! If all goes well, I"ll be there racing tomorrow. If not, I'll be there calling..

Got to KC at about 3:30 this afternoon with the hope of putting in a few laps and giving this 3-pole stuff a try for the first time. Unfortunately, the wind was about 25 gusting to 35 all afternoon and I'm not that brave. On the lighter side, I had dinner at a Chinese Buffet this evening. I got the fortune cookie and opened it. I kid you not, it said: " You will enjoy doing something different this coming weekend". Is that GREAT or what?

Thanks to Duane and all the helpers for putting on another great KC race.  The weather was starting to look like it was going to work against us again this year but right after lunch the sun came out and it was a beautiful day to race.  Only one refly total out of 35 heats and not a lot of carnage.  No midairs but Tallman and myself couldn't seem to get away from each other the first couple races but we just slapped each other around a little bit.  I'm looking forward to the Wichita race, on the 14th, and hope to see most of you guys there.

Congrats to all the winners and the great KCRC club for delivering another first-class event.

Keep up the great work everyone. Takes a lot of effort (organizers, club, pilots, etc.) to put one of these races on.

Look forward to attending the 2-day KCRC race in October. With these times though, maybe I'll just watch...

Where at the pics? Need my fix.

AJ
