OK, I'm just getting into this hobby, so please bear with me. Or, more accurately, I purchased all the parts needed for my first RC nitro car (a Thunder Tiger EB-4) nearly two years ago and am just finally getting around to finishing building it. I originally did most of the construction back then, but then hit a snag with the engine and clutch, and everything has been on hold since.

Anyways, to make a long story short I finally worked out the snag and have just finished getting the car built this weekend. So, tonight I decided to wire up the servos and get everything adjusted.

However, after charging my sort-of new Lynx 3D (previously never removed from the box), I discovered a problem: severe glitching whenever I try to use the transmitter. I'll try to list the symptoms:

* Nitro engine hasn't even been started yet, so no vibration or metal-on-metal problems. Can't find any grounding problems, antenna is straight and not touching anything, etc. The radio came with channel 83.

* With car powered on but radio off, no problems.

* Connected directly via DSC everything works as expected.

* As soon as I turn the radio on everything initially seems good, until I try to do something.

* I can make one motion slowly without too much chance of glitching: brakes.

* Any other motions, like steering or throttle, causes the servo to start to move correctly, but then *both* servos start glitching badly, moving randomly back and forth, until I stop the motion and sometimes for 5 seconds afterwards.

* If I try doing brakes quite quickly (on/off/on/off) even that will start everything glitching.

* I've tried switching to a different model memory and resetting the memory (per magazine article), but no luck.

Any idea what might be causing this? Receiver, transmitter, interferance on that channel? Thinking it might be a problem with all the computer equipment in this room I already moved the car a hundred feet away and still have the issue.

Needless to say this is distressing!

I would suggest you give us a call @ (858) 748-6948 and we can try to help figure it out. It's too difficult to do it over the forum.

Mike.
