Experienced rc pilots please give me your opinion.. Was flying my Sig Kadet Sr. clipped wing and after several great flights, the wing just came off in mid-air! Of course the wing fluttered harmlessley to the ground but of course the fuselage was totaled. Only theory I've got is that the dowells pulled right out of the fuselage. I had plenty of rubber bands on the wing. This was a kit built plane and not an ARF.. Ideas?

Actually the rubber bands were brand new. I had done a few wingovers and a couple of loops, but surely the old bird could handle that .. Anyway I've ordered a new one. I really like the airpland. Maybe that was just a fluke. thanks for input.. Jim

How many rubber bands were you using, and how were they arranged on the wing?

Or was rubber bands holding dowels to wing, easy diagnosis, nothing attached to wing band failer, same old song.

Theres not much holding the front dowel on a kadet. If you were putting it thru the paces you probably broke it out of the airframe. Next one beef it up more.

Thanks a lot for the input.. especially the advice about beefing up more where the dowels go in. No doubt in my mind after thinking about it that the dowel either front or back ripped right out.. thanks, Jim
