I'm going to step in here and put out a warning to some in this thread. I was going to delete all the "junk" in this thread, but unfortuately there wouln't be much left here in the thread if I had done that. Instead I'm going to post here.

Some in this thread seem to want to trash this product regardless of what the truth may be when this product actually hits the market. This needs to stop now. Until the plane is available it's all hearsay and anything stated as "fact" is nothing more than an attack on manufacturer of the plane. this needs to stop now. If it doesn't stop I'll start deleting posts from the thread, and if it continues after that I'll put the problem makers on Moderated Status. The choice is yours to make

Fact is... I can't imagine 3DHS putting out Junk..... I would be as proud to fly a 2M Osirus as I would a EF Vanquish....

hopefully both these planes will change the paradigm!!

(Speculation.. the Osirus will have a Dual T-Canalizer... AKA Two-Can)

so there you go!

I had a chance to fly the 62" Osiris this last Sunday after the Richmond contest and must say it is an impressive pattern plane. I was going to say it flew great for a little plane, but that is kinda a left handed compliment. Fact is, this plane flies very well period. I watched the video where Andrew built and then flew the Osiris and thought it looked pretty good, but we have all seen those kind of videos. So, I was very pleasantly surprised at how solid if feels and how well it locks on in flight. Very balanced feel to the controls and not jumpy at all. The plane I flew had a Hacker A50 in it as well as a 5S 5000mah flight pack and I had a ball with it, actually felt it might have been slightly overpowered but we all know you can't have too much power.

So, if the 2M version is anything like it's little brother, it should be very nice.

Thank you. I don't mind private messages but can't answer alot of questions about the Vanquish, and especially not the Osirus. Both are going to be great airframes though for sure.

I'll say amen to that. I've had a (62") Osiris for a few months. About once a week I slam out 4 flights from a semi-deserted road near work at lunchtime.
It's actually worthwhile practice because it flies so like a 2m plane. Snaps a whole lot faster than my Neptuno, but other than that a being bouncier in wind, little difference.

So, are there any new updates on this plane?

Now that the Vanquish has "missed the boat" will the Osiris be available this summer?

I believe the 2M Osiris is still in testing stages, I don't think there have been any dates set for release or even any hints. Ok, by me, get it right first, then release it.

Andrew if your still listening after all those lunatic raves do you know if the elevator set up will be the same as the 62 incher or will it have a servo in each stab.
I haven't seen the 62 in the flesh but looked at your dvd and the manual and its the only thing I don't like.
Along with the Vanqish it will be a much needed product.
Cheers

I have been told by reliable sources that there will be one on display at the F3AUnlimited.com tent at the Nats, but the earliest they would be available would be fall of this year.

Chris will be having a number of new planes on display at the Worlds and then the Nats. Planes from Extreme Composite and the new Monolog also. His display is going to be fairly large and well stocked. Mike

Wow, I'm blown away by the negativity on this thread. To the guy who claims to be trying to 'save' pattern, I will say this, after flying my 62" Osiris (which was one of the first out of the factory, having been preordered the instant Ben announced it) for the first time two weeks ago, it was the ONLY plane I flew all weekend (despite having several others with me) and I went home and put all my other planes up for sale. Yes, it was THAT good. Further, it convinced me to enter the local pattern contest in a month which will be my FIRST pattern contest, it gave me a level of control and confidence that I've never felt with any other plane in the 25 years I'be been flying. I also joined the NSRCA.

I'd say it's safe to say that planes of the price and caliber of the Osiris are what will save pattern, unless your definition of saving is what some old timers call 'saving' which is keeping the sport limited to a crusty few who have no interest in sharing the field with anyone else and consider any newcomer to the sport, or radical change in technology like the IC->electric paradigm shift that is underway, to be a threat to their exclusive club.

I, for one, have never been unhappy with a plane acquired from 3DHS or extreme flight, though I have never been a 3D pilot. I have nothing but praise for the Osiris, and the guys at the field (Masters and Advanced Pattern competitors) were impressed as well.

I'll be preordering the 2M Osiris the instant Ben makes it available for preorder.

I love my Osiris. I fly it all of the time. If this model comes out as a 2M, within the price range of the alleged Vanquish 2M and the Monolog of which I have seen both the 2M and 110 versions flying at contests, it'll be a big hit.

Hi folks,

Does anyone on the inside know if the Osiris will have adjustable stab and/or wing incidence? The 2M Vanquish has this feature and it would be interested to know if the Osiris is the same. Any updates of availability or dates yet? I'm getting rid of my F3A ship soon and am hunting for a replacement for next season

Cheers!

Shahid

Yep.. He's pretty happy with it too. Needs a couple minor tweaks, and it should be good. It's on my short list for 2012 for sure.
