I highly doubt it'll be available for Nitro power. I flew Andrew's latest prototype a month ago in Phoenix in some pretty decent wind and was VERY impressed. He had one more change to make before production started in earnest, so I suspect it'll be along mid-summer. I hope I get mine in time to get ready for the Nats

3DHobbyShop's GotETA page says "Summer 2012" from what the guys from 3DHS say on the fanaddicts forum that means late summer, probably August. Since AJ requested some changes on the last prototype I suspect that means the factory will need to cut another prototype and get it to AJ for approval before they go to full production, container time, etc. I'll be surprised if anyone can campaign the 2M Osiris this year. Next year though :-)

I saw the 2M at Toledo and talked to Ben. He did say 3 to 4 months. I purchased the 62" version and am really liking it and will be interested in picking up the 2M version.
I would really like to see it in an orange scheme. The orange is easiest for these old eyes to see.

One Orange 2M Osiris please!

Thanks AJ,

Rick Cilles

I have the 62" version also. Saw the 2M prototype in Phoenix at the Arizona Model Aviator's electric fly in and was impressed. Can't wait for it. I wish 3DHS would email us when it's available.

While we are all waiting for the "Slow Boat From China", a novice could have scatch built a couple of nice 2Meter pattern ships.

True, but a lot of people have neither the time, nor the capability to build a 2m airplane and make weight.

I was really impressed with the completeness and usability of the hardware on my 62" Osiris. I hope this thing is available soon as I bent up my VK Integral.

Supposedly the word in Toledo was ~September, short supply, and over $1000.

If it's over $1000 it'll do poorly. Makes no sense when their other airplanes of similar size and construction are under $500.

I don't know of a comparable for $500, but 800 gets you a vanquish shipped. $1000 is at the edge of what I'd pay for a built-up balsa pattern ship. $800 before shipping I'd pay without a second thought for 3DHobbyShop quality and AJ design.
$800 is about what an 89" slick costs.

I'm referring to their other airplanes for the same size. The 72" Extras are $439

I think I'm with Doug on this one. When all is said and done, its still just a built up balsa plane. AJ already said it will be fixed incidence and I can't think of anything on it that would cost more to make than the same size planes from 3DHS... I would like to see it in the $600 range... And for $800 you get a motor with the Vanquish, bare airframe price is $650.

But shipping for the Vanquish is 150, which is where I came to my $800 shipped price. I would actually be shocked if the 2M Osiris comes in over 800 shipped, I agree on the similarly sized planes from 3DHS being far less than $1000. I think Joe's info may be rumor, though September is about what I was expecting in terms of availability.

The similar sized planes don't have the demands of the weight limit. That might be where the extra cost is coming. Selecting good wood, the extra attention to detail required. $1000 is still a deal if it flies as well as I think it will.

The real difference is volume. How many Focus' were sold vs how many 72" extras? The ability to amortize tooling and r&d costs is big.

It flies incredibly well Tony. I have no concerns about the flying capabilities.
