I am trying to use a HiTEC Neon 3-ch Radio(Ch14) as a "buddy box" for my Futaba 6EXA digital (Ch57). I have the correct cord (square to round).

When I use a Futaba as the master, the moment I turn on the power to the plane all goes crazy...BUT...when I flip the "trainer" switch on the Futaba, giving control to the Neon, I can control the plane fine with the Neon. The receiver in the plan is a Futaba 127.

When I switch receivers (from Futaba 127 to HiTec 4-ch) and use the Neon (Ch14) as the master, all works fine.

Any clue how to get my Fut 6EXA working as the Master instead of the Neon???
