Just picked up a couple of kits I ordered from LOC yesterday. Pulled the Minie Magg out and thought wow, that's a big rocket! Then I opened up the Hyperloc 1600 and thought maybe that could be a little over the top. Almost 9' long, it's going to take some serious power to send it skyward. I'll be posting some build photos in the next week or so. This is going to be some serious fun!

Ok, starting construction. Really like the Minie Magg, it's amazing the range of motors it can fly on. As for the Hyperloc, I'm going to have to rethink my launch pad!

That is big. I really like the big ones, the bigger the better. Love to see a launch video of the two when you get 'em done.

The Hyperloc is ready to shoot some color and the Minni Magg has a little detail painting left. Great kits.

Good lord, they didn't look THAT big until you put those guys next to 'em. Been shootin rockets off for 15 years, but the biggest one was an Aerotech Initiator and/or the ever-so-popular Big Bertha. Not so big compared to those. I bet its really something seeing those things launch. Im getting out of RC trucks and lookin to pick up on something else. This just might be the ticket although finding somewhere to shoot those whoppers off might be somewhat troublesome.

If you're having trouble finding a large field, take a look at the LOC Minni Magg. That's the short silver rocket in the picture. You can fly it on high power motors, but still can use G motors where space is limited. Gets to about 500' on the G.

Does the Minni Magg just use an ejection charge from the motor, like smaller estes engines, or does it require some sort of electronics? If its just an ejection charge, that would be a good one to start out with.

No electronics required, but you would need to supplement the black powder charge given the large volume of the rocket.

we used to be a dealer for loc rockets years ago early 90s, and they where great, our shop is here in cocoa fla, next to the space center, we used to shot them off in some small fields and some big fields, always a great time, did not think loc was still around, they where changing things around when we parted with them and shipping motors was a problem,im glad to see they got through it,

Spam artist at work, seems more and more threads end up with a lame plea to buy digital photo frames..
