I was driving my Rustler VXL doing speed runs on my street and here comes a Game Warden that lives a few blocks down. I pulled off to the side of the road and let him pass, then went full throttle to see if i could catch him. Then, when i was right behind him he slams on his brakes, then stops (i almost run into him), and then backs up almost running over my $300 Rustler. Then, he comes and tells me "don't do that, i thought it was a bomb!" I'm like, "ok" while trying not to laugh. Yes, a kid innocently driving his RC car is going to blow up a random cop (not really). What does a Game Warden know about bombs anyway?

that's might be what you think, but there are plenty of people who would LOVE to squash your RC under their car/truck, and there are plenty of people who don't want your 30 mph projectile heading towards their cars.

just because someone doesn't stop their car and get out and yell at you doesn't mean they're OK with what you're doing

same here, i do that as well.

that guy must have been in a bad mood or something. he couldnt honestly have thought it was a bomb.

i usually try and stay off to the side of the car, never drive right behind them. i try not to get to close either, dont wanna spoke the driver.

1988 Clint Eastwood Movie - Dead Pool.

RC Car chases real car - goes under - then blows up.

Always Practice Safety First - As said in the manual.

- you could cause damage to the real car - scratch or dent, or distract a driver and cause an accident.

- your rc truck could get run over and bye bye $300 - When driving real car, sometimes its hard to see a small rc following behind.

just my opinion

LOL

Its a Dirty Harry Movie - Cop Movie.

I dont really see it as a Horror movie, more of a Suspense-Action thriller.

If you were to distract a driver and he crashed, they'd blame you. And knowing how the world works, legislation would ensue to prohibit RC cars on public roads.

Technically they're already prohibited. They are neither licensed nor licenseable for street use. Therefore you cannot, legally, use one on the road.

Driving your RC on the street where real cars drive is just plain dumb, man. You really should know better than that. In all honesty, if you did this to ThunderbirdJunkie, he would likely 37x the jerk the game warden was to you. You have no reason to run your Rustler on the street. Don't you have a yard?

Have you ever had a run-a-way vehicle to deal with?

I've had plenty of run-a-ways, but it was the first one that changed the manner in which I run my vehicles.

At a park, wide open, ya looks good, plenty of space....should be safe.

Anyway, even with a fail safe installed and set, I lost all control of said vehicle. It went WOT (and of course factoring murphy's law into the equation) headed towards the small sand pit where there were 5 or 6 small toddlers playing.

Anyway, this + 4 kg projectile ripped through the sand pit at over 40 mph, barely missing the group of kids by about a foot or so and slammed into a tree. The car had travelled over 200 yards away from me before it finally ran out of fuel.

I now never run any of my vehicles unless I'm in the middle of the desert or at the track. Running one of them on the street??? Dude, you said it yourself. 300+ dollar loss risk. Not worth it.

I know it can be considered a 'toy', but at the end of the day it doesn't have a license plate.

i do drive on my neighborhood street, not many cars pass and its far away from a main road, i can see a car comming ahead of time, so its never a issue since i move off the road till they pass, i like it better when i take the cars out to a empty parking lot however.

they would blame you because legally it is you're fault. that's why not many people do the invisible rope trick, if it causes an accident it's your fault not the drivers

i think you guys are taking this too seriously. i always drive my car in the road, but when cars come i make sure to pull in the grass, 1. so they dont hit it, and 2. so there not like "what is that?" screech , crash bang!!! into something. if you fool around with the wrong person, they will fool with you. just be careful and don't piss off the wrong person. but i usually do race cars down the road. 90% of the people either stop and say wow that thing is fast, or man that is so cool. i've never had a problem with it.

We're talking about somebody that not only drives his truck on the street, but CHASES CARS WITH IT.

I run mine in the street sometimes, but I'm running silvercans on 7.2v. Not a whole lot of speed. I can't and don't chase cars either, that's just asking to be run over.

One of my RCs hit a kid once, though I wasn't driving. I let another kid drive my Grasshopper, which he promptly drove at full throttle into his friends leg. Of course I expected lots of crying and questions from the parents about why, as a responsible adult, I was letting another kid control it, but he started laughing instead. It had to have hurt, I've run into my own leg, but apparently he thought it was more funny than painful. I lucked out big time.

He wasn't normal, he was a game warden. Basically, someone who couldn't qualify for a real badge!

I have one who's a bud, but he would still write me up if he could. Meets the definition of 'frenemy'.

That was one cool vid, I forgot it was that long of a chase.
