Minnflyer and myself had originally planned to cover Joe Nall this year, but because of issues with both of our schedules neither of us was able to make it to the event this year.

No reason to delete the thread. There are plenty of people who will be at the event this week. Hopefully some of them will post here.

Most likely on Saturday.
I haven't been for a few years and might as well.

Not much of a IMAC guy, but I do like seeing all different ideas about how to do things. The noon show is pretty cool to watch as well.

My wife and I added a few pieces to it yesterday. The fuselage and wings looked complete. The parts currently on the build table are horizontal stab and rudder. Its located in the big hanger.

Geez, went to the Joe Nall event today, what a wonderfully run/attended event.  Can’t imagine how they could make it any more pleasant, the noon display was by far the best I have ever seen in model aviation.  If you have never gone you should go, you won’t be disappointed.  I know I’ll be back next year.  So much to see and do, everything was clean and everyone friendly.

I was at the 'Nall yesterday, and am going back today!

Weather was getting warm compared to earlier in the week, but a beautiful day overall. In speaking with folks and friends there, attendance is down from last year, due in no small part I'm sure to the economy and gas prices. As expected, it is an incredible experience, if you go, you will go back again and again.

Also, Horizon is performing the DSMX upgrade in the main hangar. They will be there through the end of the day today. 10-15 minute process, free if you bought your radio after 11/10, $75 if bought before 11/10. You need to breing your receipt for proof of purchase date if you want the upgrade free.

Also bring some cash, no ATM available this year. Some vendors are cash only.

Special deal this year, you can come Saturday, 5/14 and pay $15 to fly at the 'Nall!

If you can make it, a definite must!

Byron

I got to see the 200% valkyrie for the first time this weekend. Very impressive. They have it just about done now, just join the wings and mount the pylon. I got a lot of pictures of it to get a better Idea of how to finish mine. I have been building up the 100% scale version, with a 10' wing span. I guess it was more of a happening thing earlier in the week because they seemed to be just cleaning things up by the time I got over to the hanger on friday evening. I wanted to ask a few questions about it but I didnt get the chance to. Does anyone know what they are going to cover that 200% scale valkyrie with? What size engine are they going to put on it?

200%? What Valkyrie are we referring to here? A 200% scale model of the XB-70 Valkyrie would have a fuselage length of 392 ft and a wingspan of 210 ft. Something tells me that either you aren't referring to the XB-70 or it isn't a 200% scale model. I am just curious what they are building.

It's an oldtimer model, not the bomber.
