Status: offline 		I have noticed that many people using futaba servos (9650s for eles; 9551 for ailerons; 9156 for rudder) are using different arms such as the Dubro super strength or aluminum arms. Is there any reason not to use the supplied arms, especially given that generally low rates are used on this plane? I like using the X-type arms so you can rotate it on the servo in order to make sure the arm is perfectly perpendicular to the servo. Just wondering if there is any problem with the supplied arms that I cant think of.

I always use the stock arms on Futaba servos, unless they are not long enough. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with using them, they also make getting a perfect 90 deg from the servo to the linkage much easier than an aftermarket single horn.

At 7.2V. The arm on the rudder is the big Dubro HD one, but I will go back to the large Futaba wheel as I needed to ATV back the rudder a bit since the large Dubro was too much throw.

I am also going to try one of these, but not sure it will make much difference.

Several of the JR WV series brushless servos use hall sensing for positioning, but they are a little large + heavy for anything but rudder and maybe aileron.

Status: offline 		That's where I was kind of excited about these Hobby King servos because they're fairly lite and very accurate and obviously very affordable.

Status: offline 		You only need an offset servo arm if the rudder control points aren't directly over the hinge line, since they are, you don't need an offset.

I am working on my vanquish and I have a question. What is the trick of getting the pull pull wires up thru the fusilage? It that one place in the back was not there it would be easy. Up here in the NW the vanquish has been very popular. Also, this was an excellent build thread I fly intermediate (just moved up) and looking forward to getting this puppy in the air.

Wayne,

I just used a piece of stiff music wire that I taped to the tip of the pull pull cable. Then I routed it from the back through the slot in the fuselage. You only need to push it about 1-1.5 feet through to be able to grab the cable from the front and pull it through. Not as hard as it looks.

Status: offline 		I just got my Vanquish. It came with Robart style hinges. Anyone using them? I was also going to use a Hacker A60-7s but it does not fit - too long and the x mount is too large and the holes do not match those supplied on the fuse. I don't want to start modifying the nose. Any suggestions?

Status: offline 		the plane is designed around the fury torque motor, im useing the eflite power 160 in mine and it fits with only have to move one of the holes in the fire wall I know people have used other motors, im not sure what you have to do to get your hacker to fit, I wouldnt want to modify the nose.
