Here is the newest edition to our range of RC Skydivers just for interest sake.

After being inspired by Theo Vassen's Large skydiver, we decided end of last year to start on our own XL large skydiver. After getting some advice from Theo we decided to give it a go and we doubled the size of our standard RC Skydiver.

Our specs on the diver is as follow: It stands 90cm (35.4inches) tall, weight is 6kg's(13.3pounds) and has a chute with a wingspan of 3 meters (9.84 feet). To put that into perspective, my son is 3 and a half years old and fits into the divers jumpsuit as can be seen on the photos here. Theo's diver is 80cm (31.5inches) tall, weighs 4,5kg (9.9pounds) and chute was 2,75 meter (9.02 feet)wingspan. Theo's one is still the biggest one flying/jumping as we were not able to do the maiden jump, the plane developed some technical issues and untill then the diver is also grounded. However Riaan and myself just wanted to share it with the rest of you guys!!

It made its 1st public appearance at the Henley Airshow last the weekend, here are some photos of the diver!!

Enjoy!!

Very cool!!!!

We have a "large scale" skydiver as well in our hanger. We will never offer it as a package to the general public but it is really cool also. I will get the specs of it tonight and post some pictures. He is around the 32" height also. The chute is sewn more like a really chute than a model chute for strength.

Thanks Dave,

I still remember your large scale diver, still have photo of it somewhere in my archives!!

This one was built for a friend of mine who has one of our divers already, but he wanted one double the size to go witn his plane, a 47% Decathlon. We won't be pushing it as a regular product as well, its just not practical, as not many modellers will have a big enough plane to haul them up. We will be building 2 more, one for myself and one for Riaan our chute builder, which will be used exclusively for marketing purpouses. We also buildt our large canopy with extra reinforcements as well as making it a 9 cell like the full size.

I don't think you have seen my new giant scale diver? The only apperance he has seen was at Toledo Show one year. We used him to hang up and attract attention to our booth. He was hanging about half way to the ceiling and still looked very huge. We have the logo "RCSkydiving" across the bottom of the chute.

Hi Lundy,

Thanks for the photos, I couldn't find them on the forum!! As I said Theo's diver was our inspiration.

Unfortunately the diver has not been maidened yet!! I'm now finishing mine and will hopefully get it in the air sooner than my customer to who I sold this diver!!

Blue Skies to all!!!

Very cool, guys.

I would love to see one of these giants in flight.

Hey Lundy, maybe you can borrow Yulia and bring it Muncie ! But you would probably have to buy another ticket.

Im just curious, what kind of wind conditions can an rc parachuter fly in. It seems like an un powered parachute would brobably need little to no wind at all because if a gust of wind were to come up it might blow it in to the next county. If wind were to blow it around, are you able to still steer it into the wind and stay pretty close to your target?

WE DID IT!!

After finishing the 50% RC Skydiver more than a year ago, we finally got to maiden it at Oudtshoorn Scale(our annual scale fly-in event) this past Saturday 29/09/2012!!

Micton Hobbies assisted in taking the beast up to altitude with their 42% Sbach powered by a 170cc engin, thanks guys for willing to take the risk with me!!

We can now officially say it is the largest flying RC Skydiver out there!!

Here are some photos of the jump!!
