I would like to start compiling a list of attendees. This will be our first pattern contest at GAMA and want to make sure we are properly prepared with water and food. Dont want to be short or over.

Thanks so much.

I will put in a special request for calm winds... although, we may be holding a night fly in that case!

Keith:

I have talked to the Texas law enforcement authorities and they have made a special exception and will allow you to enter the state to compete. When you come across the border, just mention my name and I think you will be OK. They have however, stated that if you misbehave, I will be detained. (LOL). If you come down, bring Scott Anderson with you.

Chuck
I will arrive Friday but have to leave Saturday Night as I leave for 10 days Ca.
Looks like the prevailing wind will give a right to left pattern, is that correct?

It's official: Glowplugboy will be there..... and the current temp forecast is 100 on Saturday and 101 on Sunday. I think this should be a six round contest with trophies awarded to everyone who does not have a heat stroke.... I understand YS is coming out with a 1.90 "Heat Stroke" Engine.....

Anyone need CA Glue? $5.00 for a 2 oz. bottle, thin, medium, thick.

Get ready to sweat!!

Mike

My hopes are for us to make a 6 round contest.... at least 5.

This may require us flying earlier and with a sundot and one line until the sun is high enough not to be a factor. This might help us move things faster. Also, flying later into the evening might work better as well. This could be starting with the lower classes early and flying double rounds and finishing with the upper classes and flying double rounds.

Prevailing winds call for a left to right sequence.

Hi Chuck,

Sounds good to me. The sun isn't a factor in my flying abilities... in fact a triangle loop with half rolls with the sun at the Apex should actually help me score a 10...

Geez, it is going to be hot....

Please share with everyone that we will be having the pilots at 9am. This will allow us time to get all the details sorted for how we will be running the contest.

The goal right now is to be wheels up by 930 with at least one class flying.

Chuck,
Whatever y'all decide is fine but just a thought here.  It stays light until past 8.  No one is really rushing home Saturday evening so if we fly a little later, I would think it would be fine.  Dinner and {whatever} can wait another hour so we don't have to fly in the sun.  Not all of us can pull the Todd Blose and just close one eye until we're on the other side and then switch.

Great contest Chuck, Leslie and Ed.  Y'all ran a very smooth contest with over 30 pilots.  You could take out the 101 temps and the 80% humidity though.  I'm all for prepping for the NATS but good lawd.

Thanks again, it was a blast.

Scott

I had a lovely time at the contest, great job everyone who did the hard work of putting it on in the intense heat. Next year, please don't have the field plowed over so I don't break my landing gear when I dead stick!

Glowplugboy; I gave the farmer your comments. He said what’s a dead stick? I tried to explain it to him. He said he keeps the tractor tank full and has never had a dead stick.

It gives me great pleasure to report that through the event we were able to raise $425.

GAMA RC of Georgetown will proudly donate this money to TEAM USA and thanks everyone for their support and attendance and we look forward to doing it all again next year!
