The NGH-17 is a revised/improved version of the JBA-15g.

Michael Chow (formerly of JBA) started up NGH.

The NGH line initially showed Valley View RC as one of 2 USA distributors, but
now only Agape Racing and Hobbies is listed on the NGH web site (for USA sales).
http://www.nghengine.com/parter.asp
http://agaperacingandhobby.com/

There's already a thread here on NGH Gas Engines.....
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10...m.htm#10436663

Another tells all on the JBA-15g (New .90 gas engine (15cc))
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_96..._1/key_/tm.htm

Any "issues" the JBA-15g had, are supposed to be fixed in the NGH-17.
You'll need to read that msg thread for details.

My personal opinion...you would be better off to find a good deal on a new or used SuperTiger 2300 and send it to Ken Lambert. He can make it a fine engine with needle bearings on the rod. The NBH-17 and the JBA-15 would both sell better with needle bearing rods also. Capt,n

I'm testing one GT17 from a couple of weeks, and all i can say is : i like it.
Not much more powerful than J15G but some issues solved, user friendly and easy adjust of needles.
Steel cylinder sleeve , pressure nipple for carb pulses on crankcase, at opposite side of exhaust, Walbro carb specially adjusted for the engine after many test with many carbs, exhaust with internal plate, no carb adapter now, included in the cast now .......
Almost all parts are new .

About brass bushing , if oil content is as recommended, NO problem.
Small gas engines does not need small needle bearings on the crankshaft side of con-rod. Small needle bearings have less and small needles.

Mpascual,
I got to take your word that the 17 & 15cc engine do not need a needle bearing. I guess with very high quality bearing & high quality oil the engine should work out like you say. I know that you indeed have a lot of experience with the engines. Ifa filmof oil is in the bushing, does provide more of a surface to say "glide" on that surfacerather thana small surface ofvery few needles...the bushing may indeed work good. Also if the oil hole is done right ...that helps too...I guess. So buyers dis-regard my post #4 ...Mpascual most likely is right. Best Regards Capt,n

This time , the manufacturer wants to release a heli version of this engine.
On the JBA15G i've tested a prototype head with bigger air cool fins.
I dont't have any helicopter to test now, and maybe the development must be done by a person who knows helis requirements.

Regards

he left JBA when he was testing the heli version, I wish the best for him.
the GT17 will replace a small .50 so he need at least 3HP and high rpm, over 10.000 would be correct.
don't know how he will fit a 17cc engine in all standard 50 size helis. it fits perfect on 90 helis but this engine is not enough for 3D.

1- What's about the smaller CDI from RCexl, anything new ?

I've got a Century Radikal 20 heli. It does 3D fine so if they can stuff a Zenoah G20 into a .50 size airframe there is no reason NGH couldn't stuff their 17 in one as well.

The guys that make the Pantera .50 also offer a "BigBlock" kit to stuff a .90 into the Pantera. Maybe he could start with that for development.

Have they reinforced the muffler so it doesn't distort/leak when tightened? If so, is it a bolt-on replacement for the 15cc version?

All the improvements are listed in post #5.

Manuel stated "exhaust with internal plate" which most likely is sleeves/tubes for the bolts to pass through.

You have got one but you dont have it now... why did you sell it ?
maybe because it's a stone in the air, 2.5D it's not hard 3D as you can do with any OS engine or so...
they cannot stuff the ZG20 into ANY .50 size airframe, they (Century) have their OWN BAD carbon frames, you make me laught.
As I said above the GT17 is too big for the Trex 600, Raptor 50, Outrage 50..etc you need the .90 size airframes to install the GT17..
thanks

It uses the Walbro WT-962 carb that has been modified and jetted from the factory to run well with the GT17.
