I'm planning to attend the Hillsdale race on 8/13/11.

I had a great time at Muncie earlier this year, but I probably won't be able to make a second Muncie race. It's about 20 hours on the road (each way) from my house in Fritch, TX.

The ailerons were cut free with a razor saw.

You have to free up the hinge line by bending and scraping with a Dremel disk.

Sections of antenna tube were attached with Shoe Goo.

The antenna sections should be approximately 90 degrees apart.

I tested the Tetra tank for leaks in a bucket of water.

The tank was installed as a CG tank that is located approximately at the center of gravity. The advantage of this type of tank is that trims stay the same throughout the flight.

The ViperDog was setup for easy maintenance.

1) There is plenty of room for radio equipment.

2) The engine is easy to access.

3) The control horns are easily accessible.

4) The landing gear is attached with nylon bolts.

Kevin,

The ViperDog is another winner!

I just got back from Hillsdale, KS where the model did very well.

The model finished 2nd in 424.

On the course it flies as fast as the fastest models.

I flew a 1:27 on the short course.

I fly the course on a knife edge the entire race. It has no difficulty in this mode.

The ViperDog got a new look with a new wing.

This is the wing that was featured in the "Vacuum Bag a 426 or 428 Wing" thread.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10778197/tm.htm

I managed to shed a couple ounces on this wing by using lighter balsa wood sheeting and less filler and paint.

The ViperDog weighs in at 61 ounces without fuel.
