This bad boy flies over my home at least 5 - 8 times a week. On his current heading he's out-bound so his altitude is pretty good. But when he's in-bound....MAN!!! What a window rattling noise he makes...[8D]

Appologies for the quality, that was taken on my BB.

C 17 in my opinion.

Compare and choose:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilyushin_Il-76

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_C-17_Globemaster_III

Nice house!

C-5, it has a little too much length compared to width for a C-17 in my opinion.

I think it's a C 17.

I will try and get better shots of it sometime, unfortunately when it comes in for landing over my place (much lower), it's usually at night.

I do know that the 'air base that doesn't exist' that it lands at 'does not' serves New Zealand and UAE forces, and 'was not' used by Canadian forces.

Think I can research what planes those countries have bought and use. It's deff not an Ill...

Thank you Gentlemen. [;)]

Because of the nacelle projection, I lean towards the Galaxy, but you are right. A much better shot is needed. If you have, or a friend has a camera with a telephoto lens, and the schedule is reasonably regular, you can lie in wait and "ambush" it as it leaves! Lee Robinson W. Palm Beach

Thats a C-17. A C-5 has a very distinct engine sound and the fuse ahead of the wings is longer. Watch a video of each aircraft taking off and you can distinguish between the two without even looking at it.

I'm voting C-17

The easiest way to tell is the C-17 has winglets.

Yup, I spotted that in the pics posted. Just waiting for the next fly-over that I can witness to see if I spot those winglets.

Thanks cfircav8r. [;)]

I see both often at Pease. It’s defiantly a C-17

Finally got to see it come in for a landing during day-time hours and can confirm the winglets. It's a C-17.

Thanks guys. [;)]

Here's a better shot of it I got today. You can see the winglets in this one. Thanks guys.
