Status: offline 		Hi, I have just finished my .20 floats for my Kadet JR. I have read some articles and talked w/flyers and now I am throughly confused on take off and landing techniques. ha ha. I would apprecite advice on all aspects escpecially throttle and speeds for takeoff and landings. Im also a new flyer. I can fly just enough to scare myself a few times a day, ha ha Thanks

You'd be better off posting this on the "Seaplanes" board.

But since you're new, and here already, and I had an awesome afternoon flying so I'm in a really good mood, I'll give it a shot.

If you can fly a taildragger you can fly a floatplane. Point it into the wind (you've got a whole lake after all so there's no need to fight a crosswind), ease to full throttle and hold full up elevator until the floats come up on step (planing), relax the elevator to keep it from lifting too soon but don't let the front of the floats dig in (if they are set up right they shouldn't). Land as if doing a three pointer with a taildragger but not too slow or or too steep or she'll dig in and go over. Hold the nose up until she slows down.

Taxiing on the other hand...
