I have a mix for twin elevator servos but the trim does not transfer to the slave servo. What step did I miss? Everything else works fine. The mix is through the gear channel, I'm sure I just need to select something but I couldn't find it. Any help is appreciated.

What transmitter do you have the mix on?

With the TX off:

Hold ENT and turn the radio on.

scroll to DeviceSEL which is the device select menu. Press the scroll roller button.

You should see DeviceSEL at the top and then flight mode showing what switch its on.

To the top middle and going toward the right of the screen you will see Gear, Flap, Aux2, Aux3, Aux4
Directly below each of these channels is the switch that the channel is assigned to. And below that are the words Act possibly is the channel is active. Or it might say INH if the channel is inhibited. This is just to the right of the word OUT. For the gear channel. And each of the channels has its own setting for Active or Inhibit.

What we need to do is turn the gear channel off or INH it so we can use it as a second elevator channel. This means that the leevator stick will control the second elevator and not the landing gear switch.

So if the word under the gear channel says INH you are great. If it says ACT Use the roller to scroll to this "ACT". Then push the scroller button to change it to INH

We now have the Gear channel "turned off" so we need to assign it to be a second elevator channel. So Push the LST button on the left side of the screen. Use the roller to scroll to Wing Type. Push the scroller once it is there to open this menu.

At the bottom of the screen it will show you DUAL/MATE. Then to the right of these words are the main control functions elevator, ailerons, rudder and flap.

Under each function it will say INH meaning that the Mate function or dual channel function is turned off. We need to turn this on. So scroll to the INH below the Elev channel. and push the scroller button The choices will now be available of what channel to use. Reminder. Only the channels you INH in the last major step will be available. In our case we want the gear. Scroll to gear and then push the roller button.

You are now done! Plug the right Elevator into the Elevator channel on the RX and the Left elevator into the gear channel. You don't use any Program mixing or anything. The elevator is on and working. So if you tried to create a program mix to do the task go and turn it off if you have not already. This could cause greif in and fool the radio into do other things like turning it off or over driving the servo. These types of games are used in advanced programming to do special things but we don't want them acting on our simple dual elevator control.

You will notice in the programming now for sub trim and Travel Adj, and reversing. That the radio has renamed the channel #5 from Gear to LELEV. And it renamed the elevator channel to RELEV. This is so you don't get confused on which one you are adjusting. This is why I use the channels I use. Channel #3 is Right elevator and channel #5 is gear but has now been "MATED" as the dual channel for elevator and is the Left elevator channel.

These words were pretty lengthy the reality is it takes about 20 secs to do the task.

I hope this helps you out, and gives you a step by step account of how to do it. After you try it and see what is going on....you'll say wow this is a powerful feature, I can link up all kinds of servos, even the twin engine feature which is done in a similar way.

This MATE function is a very very powerful feature. This is what sets this radio apart from the other radios on the market. It has huge versatility and allows us modelers to link up controls and have them always track together as if they were on a Y harness but yet allows us to set independent travel adjustments and reversing as well as subtrims.
Its almost like a mini Match box built right into the TX for each channel.

If you have any more questions I'd be happy to help out.

The method of using the dual servo function is by far the best method to use multiple servos, however to answer your question, you probably have the mix on one of the mixes in the transmitter that will support either a curve or linear mix. Try changing your mix over to one of the mixes that will only do a linear mix and see if that fixes the problem.

I do recommend using the dual servo function, however.

Tim, I have a 9503, but it's probably the same. Don't use a mix program for the dual servos. Use the wing type program in the setup menu. Inhibit the switch for the slave channel. VERY IMPORTANT!! Actually, you must inhibit the switch first, but it's an important check of the setup. This is the same program you should be using for two aileron servos. Again, inhibit the switch for the slave aileron and select "Flaperon" under wing type. With this setup you will also get differential adjustment.

If you want to use sub trim to adjust your elevator halves, activate the slave channel switch and adjust each half. Then inhibit the slave again and you're in business. Most people use AUX 2 for the slave, leaving GEAR to turn on/off other mixes.

I have two aileron servos and those are fine. The mix is good it's just the trim. I had to use the gear channel because I only have an AR6200 receiver int it. I'll try it once I get home. I can change the mix easy. Thanks

Tim, To adjust the sub trim, you do not have to activate the switch. This is true of ailerons too. It's been so long since I set it up that I forgot how it worked. Also, if you use my suggestion, clear your original mix.
