Hey, my pull start on my xtm 24.7 some times turns over the engine and some times not at all!!!! So I found this pull start eliminator. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Are there any other electric starts that work with my engine?

I found my 247 6 port doing the samething, but then again this is not the first one to do it and probley wont be the last.....What is happening is the start shaft that slides into the 1 way is slipping in the bearing due to it being very very smooth, which is not a very good thing but it can be fixed with spending less that 5 bucks at walmart.....You can take a small piece of 1000 grit sand paper to sand some very lite grooves in the shaft to give the roller's inside the 1 way to grip on....When sanding on it sand it the length fo the shaft (longways) not around the shaft.....Just 3-4 time's back and forth is all that's needed....BTW to be on the safe side do not use an thing lower that 800 grit paper...... Works like a charm.....

Seems the 24.7 uses the same one-way the XTM .18 does, and might not be strong enough for the compression the 24.7 produces. Try picking up a GS 21B01 one-way, it's identical and might be stronger, give it a shot. I've never had a prob with the GS 21B01's pullstart.
