A local high school auditorium was used for his memorial this past Saturday. Over 700 were in attendance!!!!!

I start again on the build of my corsair and i would be happy if somone can tell me how to contact Graeme Maerse.
I want to order the pack he makes for the corsair or atleest part of it.
Like you told me before i tried to ordered it at my rep but at carf germany the told me its inpossible to order that pack.
I am specaly interested in the wing tip light covers and the hinge covers and maby other things ( I dont now whats al in the pack )

Hello Bruno.

I spoke with Graeme at the Toledo Expo show in April. I asked him about his kit because I have a build for a friend that also requires it. He told me that he needed to make some new molds for some of it because they had reached their limit of pulls. He was busy but told me he would work on it. I am about to get back with him and see how he is doing with it. I'll let you know what I find out.

Status: offline 		Here are some pictures of another top hatch for the Corsair. I made the change to closer hinges on this one and it works even better than the one on the Top Gun Corsair. Also pictured is how I make the gas cap latch for it.

I have a used Moki 215, which I am bench testing, yet to fit to the Corsair.
The engine has an APS pump and has been suffering from cold running/mis-firing No3 cylinder, which is fairly common I believe.

I have fitted a Turbulator, bought from Dr Gotz Vogelsang at Aeroscale, which has virtually solved the problem.
(The turbulator does what its name suggests - swirls the petrol vapour to provide a better and more consistent fuel flow to each cylinder).

Hopefully there will be a couple of attachements, one showing Garys engine fit with spacers, and one showing the turbulator.

However, the turbulator is around 50mm long. It fixes to the Moki engine, then the carb fixes to the turbulator - the result is that the carb will end up within the Corsair fuselage, making access to the H/L needle valves difficult.

The only thing that I can think of is to cut an access hole, maybe a good 25mm diameter, in the fus top (under the cowl), and use a long screwdriver to adjust the needle valves somewhat "blind".

Anybody used a turbulator or can suggest a fix ?

Hello stivvy. I read your post and will be mounting a Moki 215 to the Corsair I am currently building. Just have not quite gotten to it yet. I was going to see how far forward it will go in the cowl. I know it will go a little farther out than I mounted the last one, but not sure how much. Probably not enough to expose the adjusting screws, but not sure. I would hope the 215 I have will run well with just the pump. I'm not sold on the need for the turbulator yet.

You are welcome.

We shall see how this one performs. Mike Barbee, one of the first to use the Moki in this country, told me that he uses neither the pump or the Turbulator on any of his Moki radials, although personally, I am sold on the use of the pump for starting, top end performance, and reliability.

As far as the hatch goes, it would still be a very long way to those screws. Perhaps aluminum guides for the screw driver, and then some fuel tube on the screws to keep it from slipping off. If it comes to that.

Welcome aboard Angus. Here is a picture of what we do. The clearance is very close on the struts, and a shim in the front will fix your problem. Notice the shaping we did to the pivot and mount for clearance in the front.

Not in the manual, but should be IMO.

Something else I'm curious about. If you could, please measure the shock on the tail gear, center to center. It should be 3" not 4" (what they were). At 4", the tail gear will not retract to a scale appearance. The lower part of the tire should be visible, but not the yoke. I have had Sierra shorten the ones on the planes I have built, and let Darrel know about the problem.

No, just the opposite. The wheel will not retract far enough causing the yoke to extend through the doors resulting in a much larger cut-out in them than scale. If you send the shock to Darrel (Sierra Precision 440-476-4885), he will fix it for you.

On the Corsair, only the tire should protrude through the gear doors when closed. The axle and yoke should be inside the doors.

Imagine what this would look like if it stuck down another inch.
