Update on the exhaust systems.

I am currently in full swing on producing the systems. I have been in the process of setting up a paypal account for the units , for some reason paypal is taking its sweet time finalizing  due to i have another account and it seems to be conflicting.

For those that have requested a set for there builds rest assured the units are in progress.

At the time i have enough of the bendi tube in stock for delivery . The dimensions of the tube are 3/4" i.d. x 7/8" o.d. x 12" long.

Once paypal cooperates with me i will be replying to everyone that as requested a set.

If you require any info , email myself or Gary we will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Sorry for being missing the last couple days guys. After dealing with my wife's illness over the week end, I got sick and have been down for two days. I'm feeling better and my wife is battling her pneumonia at home (at least for now).

Now for the pipes or the flex pipe, orders can be placed using the pay-pal custompipesrc@hotmail.com or if that doesn't work yet, just use ram3500-rcu@juno.com. We expect delivery will be in the 3 weeks or less.

Looking forward to making these available.

Something else guys, I was thinking it might be nice to make the exhaust covers available as well. Here is a picture of the full scale cover. It could be laser cut out of aluminum or stainless and then bent in shape by the builder. If there is interest, I'll make a pattern on this next install and Dan will do the CNC stuff for a price per unit. Nominal I expect.

WE'RE OFF THE GROUND so to speak!!

First order has been placed and they will go to the UK.

Thank you very much.

Looks like the new Pay Pal address of custompipesrc@hotmail.com is working now, so please use this email for orders, or the address in a previous post.

My brother is the electronics expert on this stuff. He wires up the harnesses for us. I'll see how his schedule is and if he can't get to it I'll get that parts list for you. I will say that we experimented with different colors and the orange lights we like the best. The Corsair gun barrels are 1/2" ID, so nice large LEDs are possible.

Damp, 40s, wife has pneumonia but resting peacefully, grand kids are at their respective homes except for the one that I took to the airport this morning with the rest of his family for their vacation to the Caymans, good day to build.

Thanks Gary,

Orange lights for me will be great. Let me know the PayPal address if your brother can make one for me. I also would like some weight.

The canopy photo shows when I tinted the canopy. I used really hot water and die. Then pour evenly over the plastic. It takes more experience than I had at first. So I had to purchase another canopy. Also mixing dies to get the right color is not easy. My research told me that mixing red and yellow gave the correct tint. This also came from Bob Violet for jets. I did not like the tangerine look so I tried plane yellow. My first attempt with yellow was to much color and it came out to dark. I like the subtle look and then found that brown die works best. My Comp ARF uses yellow and my Zorilli uses brown. I think I like the brown best. Brown comes out very subtle and looks like smokey.

The finished photos are not cleaned. So they look at little foggy, however, they clean up and are very clear with light yellow tint.

I'll post more photos if you wish.

Shall I start my own thread or is ok if I simply continue on yours?

Oh, I see now.

As I have said, feel free to post here if you like. I don't mind other build info and pictures in my threads. Sharing ideas is what sites like this are all about IMO.

Hi Michael,

Your build is looking good.

I see that you have fitted the inners to the tail doors - is this the Graeme Mears set ?
I can't get hold of any as Graeme is out of production at the moment, any ideas on a supplier ?

Thanks,

Steve D

Yes, Graeme has moved his shop and much of his stuff is still in storage. It is unfortunate that CARF itself doesn't develop some of this stuff. You would think it would be relatively easy for them, but no joy.

But then, Graeme did it on his own, right?

Hi Guys,

I was email-chatting to Mitch at Down-and-Locked, re electric door rams for the main gear.
At this time Mitch does not have anything available but hopes to soon.

Just a thought, has anyone tried the Lado E Doors, they come in 20mm and 30mm sizes and might avoid having to use air when the rest of the installation will be electric.

Regards,

Steve D

Have not. Would also be interested in any feedback.

I do trust that Mitch will come through on this though. It has been my experience that he always does once he setts his mind to it.

Anyway, if the retracts and wing fold don't show up soon, I might be going back to air/oil

Mitch has completed his work, but good old USPS have posted them to Canada (wherever Canada is ) !!??

Now I live in Britain - which is a good old bus ride from Canada I reckon.

HOPEFULLY they are now winging their way to me - thanks for your help Mitch, looking forward to playing with them

Let me know if we can help with the upgrades when you get them. There are a couple things you need to keep in mind. Did you get the nice switch Mitch has so you can operate them without the control box installed? Very handy during the building process.
