Hello!
I have question about oil percentage in glowfuel.

In the last 10years here in Sweden (and I think also in the rest of europe)syntetic oil have taken over completly in glowfuel engines. It all started
when the German company, Graupner, introduced an all syntetic oil called Aerosynt 10 years ago.
This oil was so good that it could be mixed in so low percentages as 10-15%.
Being a suspicious all new "marvel-oils" I stayed away from these new syntetic oils and used my trusty old 20% Castor/5% nitro mix as before, which have worked perfectly in more than 25 years.I knew that castor oil had a higher flashpoint than any other oil and so I was certain that my engines got enough lubrication.
But my friends kept agueing how good they thought the Aerosynt (German) and ML-70 (British)syntetic oil were, giving no carbonbuild-up inside the engine and practicly no engine wear on piston and liner or any other moving surface, so I finally tried the Aerosynt II all syntetic oil from Graupner.15% oil 5%-10% nitro and what a difference! Not that the engines gets any more power, but the throttle respons is better than in engies using castor oil, but the best thing is that the engines now run much cleaner than before with no carbonbuild-up inside and they seem to last as long or longer than before using castor oil.
I have used both Graupners Aerosynt II and their Aerosave oil(which is said to take higher heat than the Aerosynt II oil) and the Brittish ML-70 oil and all I can say is that these oils are fantastic......
I have run these oils in both fourstroke engines and in two-strokes and they work fine in both.
I have only tried 15%oil but many fliers have used as low oil percentages as 6% without no problems at all.
For those of you who are familiar to motorcyle-racing, the French oilcompany/brand Motul has an all syntetic oil specialy made for glowengines. This oil is called "Micro".
A friend of mine who is a professional motorcycle
tuner has run this oil in his own reworked OS.91 FS engine (with ignitionsystem and higher compression (14:1) running on glowfuel)and has used only 6% oil!
So my question is.......why are these oils not used by you americans?????
Certainly Klotz must have an equal oil??!!!

Regards!

I'd guess these oils aren't used by the Americans because it may not be available over there. But I'd also take a guess that the Aerosynt is actually a turbine oil similar to Mobil Jet Oil 2 which is a common aircraft oil in Australia and works great in our engines. Any Mil Spec gas turbine oil should all work equally well.
