What's this about Ron having a gang? That's a scary thought since I'm in Michigan at the moment without the Rocky Mountains to protect me

Locally it's kind of dead with the OB tunnels. Dave Homer still has his but hasn't had them out in years. One play buddy just moved back from Missouri who has an old Dumas Hot Shot and needs some flex cables for it. I ordered them through Gary Preusse and should be here today.
It's kind of sad as the 3.5 OB tunnel class used to be one of the largest classes up here in IMPBA D-2 but for some reason fizzled out. The 7.5 class is on life support if not dead by now.
I had a VS-1 that I bought last year at the Hobart race that Grimmie auctioned off for a foundation that he's connected with but did some wheeling and dealing with Kevin Sheren on some stuff and he got that as part of a swap.

HJ, I heard about the "posse" thing as I met up with a bunch of people at the Toledo show 2 years ago and we just walked around together. I had my son, Joe and Nessa (Josey Wales and Miss Hydro), Miss Darla and Dan Kramer with us. Josh Stolfuss started that. I also heard that you were in the state again for a visit, over at Cobo Hall in Detroit.

Yea the diversity between the dist. and clubs vary.
For example I was reading the stats from NAMBA Nats that Chris W. posted,
Like in B-Mod, LeeCraft with different name mod K-B's were winning. Thats very cool!

Anyone else tunnelheads.....What cha runnin?

With all the hull options and engine options, the .21 tunnel classes should do good. The .21's sip fuel too. We have a bunch of .21 tunnels race in Elmira, NY.

Ron, was there and stayed at the Greektown Casino/Hotel. I'm still in Michigan and will be until Wednesday, then it's off to "Hydrotown" for a few more days. Sounds like I don't need to fear the gang after all with that bunch

Guess the next question is wood or glass? Both have their good points.........
A few examples,
In Wood,
Villain series, Mike Z is still racing Nemesis too....
Woodstuff
JD's WOF 30

In Glass,
Leecraft
Lynx
Vision

For me I like wood cause I cant leave anything alone, Easy to modify, and to fix.
Thoughts?
Gene

Mike doesn't say anything as I've tried to pry stuff out of him. I thought that the VS-1 was going to be the Nemesis. I do know that they had a .21 mono that kind of flopped as Dunlap let the cat out of the bag on that one. It looked like a larger version of the Super-Vee 27. Last year at the Toledo show he did some hinting that they were working on something that they're not known for yet but will probably be BL powered. I think that he may have to twist Russ' arm a little to get one out but if Russ had his way, they'd be producing a huge fleet of boats. Seeing how the Nemesis was made for mod motors the market may be smaller.
I really miss my DPI 3.5 OB tunnels. My DPI 7.5 is another story as that thing was very difficult at best to handle right. I had it all dialed in until one of my buddies decided to mess with it and couldn't get it back to where I had it. Back then I also had an MRP Mirage (the same as the Bud Lite boat but without the decals) and an original Hobbico Top Speed, a real clunker.

Would I be showing my age if I remember the original Hot Shot 21 when new, the Midwest Products Klampon-Kai and the Hughey boats? My, we've come a long way!

Guy's got a setup question er two for ya.....
Last time I was running the stick on weight went on tha sponson tips and the hot prop was the Octura 1440 modded.
Now everyone's running the weight at the CG or radio box and 40X53 is tha ticket.
Question is what changed?
And why?

The Sholund "Grim Racer" (when Mike's nickname was 2 words) 1440 is still a hot ticket.
The boats just ain't as purty with them there weights stuck on the front sponsons.

LOL! Yo crack me up Dude!

Tha 1440 had a few traits to get used to I admit, Throttle on/off drama but was smokin when hooked up.
Another thing is I am being told jack it up and scream the motor, I kin do dat!
My OS has some sleeve changes too.....

What's cool about Grimmie's prop, the 40 x 53, is that it's good right out of the package. Fussier people will sharpen and rebalance it though. Don't you wish that Octura's came like that? I've got 2 big gas props that I'm working on and those are a mess out of the package but not as bad as ABC's! That's why I'm paying the big bucks to let somebody else hassle with those.
Give the M-440 a shot also if you haven't yet.

Grimmie showed me a little trick for the weights. use radio box tape where you want to mount the weights at which makes them easier to remove later on for CG changes.

So far the reports back on it say that it's good stuff. Right now I'm sitting on about 8 gallons of 65% Wildcat so I'm set for a while.

Good call Ron!
Saw that couple hours ago, Find a deal on a OS and yer golden!

Back to the setup change.....
What I was wondering was if they changed the lift of the center section fore or aft
in the newer models, That would change the CG and wt points.
