I'm planning on getting a nitro monster, and right now i think i will get the XTM X-Factor. My LHS doesn't stock many monsters, but there is a Kyosho Mad Force and a Kyosho Mega Force. Those are my choices. Opinions?

I would go with what ever your local hobby shop carries the most parts for.

get the mad force it was rated better than the x-factor in RCCA. the x-factor didnt come out on top on 1 category.

Actually RCCA said the XTM was a better value. The Kyosho beat it by a hair but they said not by enough to be worth the extra cost to most people.

The biggest problems with the X-factor stock is the foamless tires without enough grip and low gearing. Both are easy to change if you want to.

The Mad Force is great truck. Dont worry about the reverse, its just a pain in the butt, you wont need it 1/10th as much as you think.

Also, the Mad Force does'nt come RTR. There is assembly and you need to buy a Radio to get it going. Dont worry about magazine ratings, they are thinly veiled advertisements, mostly a joke. Do you really think a magazine would print a bad review on one of their advertisers. Its extremely political. The RC magazine busieness isnt a huge money maker as it is, they would never piss off one of the big advertisers. but what YOU like and back it up up with real world research from other users and RC'ers.

actually i do think that magazine people would write a bad review about one of their advertisers, because if they did, then EVERY SINGLE REVIEW would be good in RC mags, and theyre not.
