I have an old chunk of 1/2 thick mirror table top (2'X4') that I use... Gives a nice mirror finish. LOL

So, not much work done except that I painted the fuse with gloss black to see the "waves" in the fuse. Not too bad really.

Also, working to replicate the scale intake spike and boundary layer. It tapers wider on the spike as it goes back on the fuse. And the spike is centered in the intake opening.

This is what is slowing me down.

I really want that to look right.

Hi All

I have started back on this since my mother in law said "not done yet??"

So what i have done is made the corrections on the fuse intake duct tapers and have started to add details.

The details will include the assorted panel lines, hatches, vents, louvered vents, piano hinge look at various locations, gun detail, and large screws.

Glass fuse/wings/stab by end of year.

A few pics of the detail phase.

Alum tape panels/ hatches and 1/64" tape. The tape will be sprayed on, then removed to allow for easy "wash' application.

Silver marker is general locations of details.

The rudder hinge detail was made by my wife's vinyl cutting machine.

More pics on RCG EDF forms. RCU says files to big.

This is the goal. Next the V-stab details. Then alum panels.

Pics load faster on RCG. More pics in RCG EDF section until I start a blog i guess.

Thanksgiving was postponed around a week according to family dynamics.

Some short cuts to details.

I have a Yellow F-16 hanging. I needed the vents for the fuse on the 104. I made bondo "molds" off the F-16 vents, poured urethane resin in the "molds" and cut as needed the vents.

And one more. The panel over the vents is thin mylar. I may change to alum tape. The mylar is thoo thick.

The vents looked good before I put black on them with a marker. stupid idea.

Very resourceful... I could use some of those, how about shipping the F-16 fuse down here so I can make copies. LOL

Would be cheaper if you flew out here and molded it.

I may be flying into San Dog around the first of the new year, to drive my daughter and our gran-baby back to Tejas. Prolly not able to incorporate a stop in Montebello though... LOL

A bit more work.

The gun fairing. Made from a piece of alder wood dowel on my lathe and cut in half. Hand shaped

A quick update of the progress.

The gun did not come out as I wanted. Will redo in urethane casting and glue to fuse later.

Vents behind nose gear doors.
