Everything A OKAY here in Indiana! We DID get some snow today, but not enough for a Winter Photo Shoot!

Not yet that is.

~ Jeff

We had about 20 car slide offs in our area with only about 1 1/2 in of snow.

It's snowing like a MF here!

It would have been nice to have seen this yesterday but this is looking like the blizzard of 1978!

It was great getting together with family and friends but this weather would have ruined it.

Ugh.  I was in Southern Michigan for that.  I think we got 6 feet of snow in just a few days.  That's what convinced us to move to sunny Southern California.

Rained this morning here.  Enjoying a fire and a nice cup of joe.  Nothing better!

That morning I needed to make a phone call as we hadn't received our phone service yet as we just moved in, so I needed to cross 38th Street to use the phone booth (remember those?) and the snow was so deep it was over my knees! Standing in the middle of the usually busy road, there was not and had not seen any vehicles at all and I stood there for a few minutes just to watch the traffic signals change for blocks!

It was a surreal moment in time.

Later that day I walked a few blocks to get food for a special dinner that evening. Spaghetti.

Aahhh, to be young and stupid again.

Love spaghetti!! It is wet here in Charleston and high winds. Early this morning I took out my KV-1. THe Aisiatan hull and wheels did excellent and the 3 to 1s box helped pull it self when I really got into some mud. The SLU is working perfectly. Love this tank. Would love to try it in snow but alas none here just mud.

Be Well,

David

I remember the storm of 78 vividly. I lived in Howell MI at the time and 2 days after it quit snowing I-96 was still closed and hardly anything other than the largest plows were moving. My Dad called in 3 days in a row and had never done that before. It was a week before things got back to normal.

Just came in from the garage and got the snowblower running for the first time this season. I'm ready and ahead of the game for a change WOOHOO.

Back to work on my secret project with tank treads

Would like to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR........... Had some snow falling this afternoon.....but has now stoped and the weather people say it will be dry and cold for the next few days.About 31 degrees out and every thing is getting a layer of ice.

Got a nice warm fire.....Going to sit back and have a few drinks staying at home ( don't drink very often anymore ) ...and still working on the dollhouse kit.Puting all the shingles on the roof is a job.Another week or so and it will be done.My wife told me tonight she wants me to build the bigger model that i had been looking at.Still not sure if i'm ready to take that one on,but i might order it.

BIGMIG

Even have a few fireworks i may set off tonight at midnight..........

Could it haul this tank? I was surprised to see this, I didn't know about it until this morning. I think your vehicle gets better gas mileage.

I've been a Hockey fan for 40 years. I grew up in the 70s with two brothers, one a Rangers fan, the other a Flyers fan, so naturally I became a Canadiens fan. I used to listen to games on the radio in French, just to get the fix. When I became an adult, I started travel for games, I've seen over a hundred at the Forum, even getting an apartment in Montreal for the entire '93 playoffs, attending every home game including the Cup win in game 5. My Lab of 14 years (died this past spring) was named Dryden and I played goal from age 6 through 36.

I tell you that just to establish where I'm coming from when I say I'm done with the NHL. I'll watch World Cup (Go Sweden!), gladly catch a QMJHL or anything I can, but since that tool Bettmann got his slimey hands on the NHL, my interest year by year has dropped off to a point where I'm officially done.

Nothing left but a pile of pro jerseys, ticket stubs and some great memories.

Yep he is a tool. Wouldn't you just love to cross check him in the face. I love the game too much to stop watching. I played offense for twenty five years, even was fortunate to play in nationals in Chicago, but we finished 4th out of twenty teams so it wasn't too bad. Now to teach my two year old to skate..... He already has the attitude lol.

Cheers

I think half the people I know would, including some State Troopers. A buddy pulled him over years ago doing 90 or so on the Pallisades, which isbarely driveable at 50. Before he even got to the door of his Range Rover, Bettmann was pushing a pile of PBA cards in his face. He ticked my buddy off so much, he went ahead and started writing the ticket. Next thing he knows, 2 units show up as if there was officershot and he ended up getting a lot of crap thrown his way all because of that crybaby.

I was never a big fan of Shanahan, but you gotta love him telling Bettmann to wipe that smirk off his face.

In reality, quitting playing, having kids and not enough time to follow games has just as much to do with my loss of interest as Bettmann and the rule changes. Of course the Habs dismal play doesn't hurt either.

NFL fits my life better these days, just have to clear the decks once a week for 3 hrs. 16 games is easier to follow than 84 and ticket prices are nuts to try a take the kids. The Forum had standing room tickets for 10.65 CD. I knew a side entrance that got me to the top of red, about 45 feet from the ice, opposite the benches, a few steps from the beer concession where you got bottles for 2.50. And the usher will hold your spot. I loved that building.

Hockey is in my Blood. I grew up in Edmonton and watched two kids named Gretzky and Messier when they were 17 years old.

This whole lock out though has really steamed me. Guys getting paid millions to do what they love, and owners who don't have the time in the day to count their money. Hockey is small time to other pro sports, but I have to tell you I believe the world has gone mad when all these pro athletes and owners feel they need more.

As much as I love the game the hockey fans have a chance to scare these baffons at all levels of pro sport. Don't watch. Go to junior game, and let these guys know they are playing a game, not saving peoples lives.

Will it happen. Not likely, but what a statement it would make to try and put sanity back into pro sport.
