I'm a newb too, so anyone feel free to elaborate on what i'm about to say because I am about to encounter my first setup too and at this point have been thinking about this very thing in my head. It is my understanding that the transmitter will have throttle and pitch curves and it will need to be set for 0 pitch for spool-up, which is low to mid-stick, then anything from mid-stick and up will maintain the same head speed, but the pitch will increase. And as your skills progress, you will find that once you are in any position higher then mid-stick, you will be able to flip your IdleUp switch which will then keep your headspeed the same irregardless of your throttle stick and at that time anything below mid-stick will produce negative pitch, and anything above mid-stick will produce positive pitch. That is what I have come to understand, I have never personally witnessed a setup in person, but this is what i've observed from hours and hours of reading forums and watching Youtube. Hope this helps....
