stssa -> Building my first heli EXI 450 Pro, need some advises. (7/5/2011 12:58 AM)

Ok guys Im building my first heli. Its a exi 450 pro. I do have a question. When I am setting up the swash plate, Should I set the servos so that, on low throttle I have negative pitch and at mid throttle zero pitch and over half throttle positive pitch. I really appreciate any input on this matter.
Or since I am a beginner should I just go ahead and set zero pitch at low throttle and as the throttle goes up pitch goes up I was thinking this way I dont need too much of head speed to lift off or am I wrong on this one?. I dont even know how to fly it yet so I dont think I will use a negative pitch for up side down flight. ( that is what the negative pitch is used for right?)

I'm a newb too, so anyone feel free to elaborate on what i'm about to say because I am about to encounter my first setup too and at this point have been thinking about this very thing in my head. It is my understanding that the transmitter will have throttle and pitch curves and it will need to be set for 0 pitch for spool-up, which is low to mid-stick, then anything from mid-stick and up will maintain the same head speed, but the pitch will increase. And as your skills progress, you will find that once you are in any position higher then mid-stick, you will be able to flip your IdleUp switch which will then keep your headspeed the same irregardless of your throttle stick and at that time anything below mid-stick will produce negative pitch, and anything above mid-stick will produce positive pitch. That is what I have come to understand, I have never personally witnessed a setup in person, but this is what i've observed from hours and hours of reading forums and watching Youtube. Hope this helps....

on normal settings at 50% throttle most go with 0 - +1 pitch  then like on mike i believe its -3  low throttle and + 10 full  make sure you loctite every screw and watch it because they are cheap chinese metals they will strip and break
