These servo's work very well but can suck the life out of your batteries. Just keep an eye on your batteries and would not use NiMH with them.

Status: offline 		Hey Goose, just wanted to check back in. Logged several flights last weekend and a few more this week. Played around with nose weight to get it to stop ballooning. Settles in for a smoothe landing now. Thanks again to all for the help.

Little off topic... i got the AW prox260 .46-.60 size. All built up and ready with a Os 65ax. I seem to find it difficult to find my CG. when balancing from front close to fuse at the recommended i get slightly tail. when balancing from wing tips, i get nose heavy ????? i even tried single point balance from the fuse and i get almost balanced.

Pls advise.

Status: offline 		I measured from the wingtips like it said, then used a large square to make marks on the root near the fuse. Then I screwed a tiny eyebolt into the fuse on that mark and hung it from a string. That always works great and you can check the lateral balance at the same time, very cool, looks like it is flying when hanging there.

After flying, I moved the CG back a hair more and it will flat spin now. I have a YS 70 on mine, tons of power and light weight, especially with the LIFE battery. That 65 should pull it well too. Overall it's a heavy plane for 40 size 3D though. Oh well, still fun and they do draw attention.

Got the 60.90 with a dle 20. Did the mod and it seems that the thrust line slightly moves to the right once you install the dle! Is this OK? Usually the engine placement will ensure that the line is dead center on both axis as far as I know (with the exception of a washer for right or down thrust). Please help!

Status: offline 		This is normal on profiles. It doesn't seem to matter and might even be a good things since all other (P-factor) forces are pulling to the left anyway. I've even noticed this on my smaller profile planes as well, that the engine thrust line is offset to the right. Especially after adding 2 1/2 degree right thrust shims under the mounting beams. Just go fly and give us a report.

I mounted my engine in the recommened position and the plane was a little tail heavy. I added a larger prop nut and a Dubro Spinner Prop Nut and it the cgi was fine.

Status: offline 		I just mounted it a bit to the front. I think I could always move it backwards later on if I feel that I could manage CG that way. The good thing is I dont have to do much grinding initially

Exactly where am stuck too! only difference is that I used cable ties to narrow the width of the hole. Initially I tried the hook provided but couldn't make it hold properly to the lite balsa under the wing area. Now I am thinking about patching it all up back with epoxy or balsa pieces and find another way to attach the fuel tank. And on second thought, Maby be doublers will do the job

Status: offline 		Hey guys, when I built mine with the DLE-20 I used the conversion kit sold by Aeroworks for about $25. With that comes a smaller fuel tank to be mounted on CG under wing, thin covered plywood tank backing plates and a template for proper drilling locations and for cutting out engine mounting area. A descent builder can figure this all out but it was worth the $25 bucks in time that it saved me. More details can be found on the Aeroworks website. You also want to favor a little nose heavy for sport flying unless you do extreme 3D. Hope this helps.

Status: offline 		I just finished cutting mine open. I then put some 14mm long pieces of 3/8 balsa stock on end in between and will patch with a piece of balsa on top then recover a bit. Don't know why they left that little bit of space hollow, as it sure couldn't have saved much weight. Kind of a pain.

Status: offline 		Maidened mine today. Ended up quite nose heavy. Went ahaed with the maiden and it was balloning a bit. Added some tail weight and took her up again. The ballooning was no more and she behalved better this time. On the second flight ate mud!!! When I checked the model at the crash site, the regulator switch was OFF! I loosely fit the battery and I think while doing couple of rolls just before the incident might had it come loose and later hit the switch Seems fixable and a local expert is helping me fix her already. Such nice people around is a blessing!

Status: offline 		 Stuck again. The sensor wire is cut and seems difficult to fix Ordered spare from tower hobbies but I will have to wait till it reaches me!

Edit: Oh by the way I ended up with an AUW of 6# 12oz ( little over 3 Kg).

Status: offline 		 Fixed the cable and she flew again today. Had two flights and both were scary 80 . Had a tough time landing it. It was ballooning and pitching up all the time. Will upload the vid soon and hope some one more experienced could tell me what is going on
