Yes ........once again it's on, and at the brand new beautiful WDA flying site.

The Woodland Davis Aeromodelers presents the Wings of Victory 2011.......

July 22-24...Warbirds any era ....WWI-Present ......in warbird colors

Here is the action you can expect to see and be part of .......but at a NEW LOCATION:

from WOV 2009:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8938535/anchors_8938535/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#8938535

www.wdarc.org

This is one of Northern Cals best attended scale warbird meets.......one not to miss.

Directions to the .......NEW AIRFIELD:

From East bound Hwy 80 out of the bay area to
the Mace Blvd exit, turn left off the exit, turn left again go back over the freeway, now your headed in the right direction,
4-5 lights to turn right on pole line road/road 102, Down pole line/ Rd 102 to the big radio tower on your right,
turn down that gravel road BEFORE the bridge
1.5 miles you will see the flying site to your right.

From Westbound Hwy 80 out of Sacramento:
Across the Hwy 80 cawsway to the East chiles road exit , take the exit
(which is right at the very end of the cawsway) turn left at the stop sign, follow the road down to the
RR tracks which banks to the right, turn left just BEFORE the Bridge, down the gravel road 1.6 miles,
you will see the flying site to your left

From I-5 north or south bound.
Get off at the knight's landing exit, head east down county road 102 (@ 6 miles Past the old flying site)
till you see the big radio tower on your left, turn down the gravel road AFTER the bridge
1.5 miles you will see the flying site to your right.

(If you end up on the paved road near the radio tower, your on the wrong road, but you will still see the flying site
to the south ......There is no bridge between the two roads as they parallel each other.)
The radio tower on Road 102 is pretty hard to miss no matter which way you come ,
just turn down that gravel road as if your going to the radio tower.

The Legendary Monty Welch is the long time CD ...see ya there....
again this is the one not to miss.

new airfield pictures........great improvement.

55x 600 ft runway, huge pit area, 15 ft wide taxiways, great for really big planes.

That's a nice looking field. I will be coming out from Livermore and am bringing a 1/5 Mustang and a 1/5 Spitfire. What time will things get going?

Thanks again this was an outstanding event once again. Your new field is supurb and by what it sounds only going to get better. The pilots and Planes that were there were this year were some of the best ever. Thanks again for the event our group will be there again next year for sure.

Sweet pics. Would have liked to have checked it out, but was too busy warbird racing at the SAMS race in Sacramento. You guys should get communication going with that group and cross/promote each event if they are going to be happening on the same weekend. Both are too cool to miss.
