I will clear over the top of them, they are stuck pretty good, so wrinkling shouldn't be an issue.....Hopefully.

I used a spray bottle with a little squirt of dish liquid in it. I emailed Callie, that is what she recommended. Works good.

She can officially be called a she now, she got her name this morning, all the rest of the vinyl is applied and done.
I took the day off today so hopefully by the end of the weekend the rest of the paint will be done on the fuse and wing, then I can start on the cowl & canopy. Who can work a regular job being this close to the end of a year and a half long project?

Looks really good man! Are you going to do any weathering, maybe throw her in the dryer and tumble with some travertine stones to give it that beat up look

Yep, she's going to get some weathering. Still researching that. As far as the tumble method, I'm not looking to return it to kit form just yet Tony.

Gary,
A Top Shelf Job.. seems like you finished with paint and details pretty quick. I'd still be scratching my head
looking at primer.

Thanks for the explanation on the Mirce finish set. I ordered mine and he sent it out next day.

Great service and nice product that will no doubt speed things up. It may seem expensive to some,
but all were really doing is swapping time for money.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike, as always, I try to have perfect service for every customer and modeler. Some time I am siting all day answering on e-mails I get. That is very important also, not just to sell products...

About price, one of reason why i start making those sets are that I can offer much lower price than it's in the world. I don't want to tell names, but same paint masc on some place cost 115,00$, and on other place, 5000 rivets cost 70,00$!!!

When I saw that I get idea to start to made this things, because I have firm for decals and my price can be much lower.
Here in Serbia many products can be cheaper than in USA and that is my chance. Work hour in machine work shop cost between 6,00 - 20,00$...

One more example, my friend and I spent almost 200 hours on Catia 3D program making drawings for my jet kit Galeb G2. Now, when you know that one hour on Auto Cad in USA cost 60,00$, who can invest so much money just in drawings. But without quality drawings you can't get perfect product. Laser cur is same story, all in all, almost every product-development is less expensive.

Best regards

Mirce

Thanks guys,

Tony, I haven't ordered my spinner yet, I was thinking about just ordering the spinner from the ARF, as for the prop I have a 22x10 Xoar WWII stye prop.

Mike, it might seem that way. This is usually the funnest part of a build for me so it get's me excited to get-r-done! The biggest chore with this is the masking, I could get me a job at Maaco I'm so efficient.

Speaking of masking, I have it all done and ready to hit the bottom with white, I may go out there and mix up some paint right now.

So how far does a half pint go? How much paint did you use in each of the colors and primer?

Edwin, it goes pretty far, it's really easy to mix up more than you need and I had a little waste in the beginning just learning. It covers very well, and you don't have to cake it on to get color. I bought a pint of white for instance, I have just enough left to paint the cowl. So after all the stars, the stripes both under the wing and the fuse, you can kinda see how far it goes.

I couldn't wait to get up this morning and un-mask the wing totally. Time to paint the wheel wells in green. I was thinking of going to the auto parts store and getting some silver for the struts, what do you guys think? Paint or just leave them the way they came from Robart?

Looks great Gary. I would paint the struts silver, and the tail wheel gear too.

I see a maiden right around the corner.

I agree, you have to paint the struts.  Failure to paint the struts is all too common, your plane deserves the extra effort!

Hello Gary,

Your Jug is absolutely incredible................. Even though I haven't posted much, I've been following along with your build since the beginning and seeing some paint on it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I could only dream of doing half as well as you have done with your Jug. I'm really looking forward to seeing your plane when it's finished and ready to fly....................

Hey Gary,

You are just testing to make sure everyone is reading aren't you?

You've gone way to far to stop now.... Get some paint (and some stain to dirty them up) after you paint.

What a great job you've done on this airplane. Looking forward to seeing it in person even if I have to drive to Austin. Surely you'll bring it this way in September????

Again, It is looking Fantastic!

Thanks ya'll
David, If I can do it you can too, just take your time and take a break when you need to.

Rick, Absolutely I'll be there in Sept unless something really, really bad happens.

I bought some Dupli-Color Satin Silver Met. for the gear, test results look pretty good, so I will get them painted later.

I don't know Tony, what's the going rate these days?

Not much to report, I'm working on getting the cowl fitted with the baffle, radial engine, and chin scoop. I needed to go to the LHS yesterday to pick-up some supplies to dress up the radial a little bit. Other than that, just pluggin along....
