Here are no real problems stock except for the power sucks. BL is needed IMO, and so is lipo. You can go back onto the last page and see the lipos I ordered. I will let you know how I like them when they arrive. Any questions, just ask.

Hey there. been thinking of getting myself one of the new brushless/2.4ghz version of this truck. What does everyone think of theirs? Is it worth it for some indoor fun?

I just finished upgrading mine with 2.4ghz and a bl system. Even with the stock NiMh battery, it flies. I dont know how controllable it will be with LiPo.

Well got it today.... Its so cool... its like a 1/10 just scaled down.. he he tiny little car...lol

Well ive pulled it apart only once just to check out how it works... Thinking about making a new chassis sometime for it.

Just wondering it seems to have heaps of rolling resistance & the diffs are so tight they dont work to well. is that how they are?

Yeah I'm sure the duffs wont ever be perfect, they're just cheap molded plastic.

Well I found a video that gave me a idea...

I run the diffs in... worked a treat.

all i did was put the wheel tool in a drill & used the drill to run the diff....
its heaps quiter now and less resistance....

here is the video

the stock ESC can handle up to 7.4v, but doesn't have a cutoff. really, IMO you're better off just getting the BL system. its only 50 bucks (plus the 3 wire servo) and comes with a cutoff, not to mention better power. once i get mine i will let you know how i like it. also, i have in the mail 3 2s 300mah 20c Turnigy (i think) lipos from HK. i will let you know how i like them, and for $4 a piece, i can't imagine not liking them...

Well i plan to upgrade mine, but realisticly I will build a hole new one & let the kids have this one.

The only problem ive found with going brushless is... It doesent really fit the stock chassis, and with the reciver sitting up top cant be good for the centre of gravity...

So i dare say I might make a new chassis or buy one of those CF chassis for a brushless conversion... that would give it more of a scale look and keep the COG nice and low

Well i made up some mudflaps, got the idea from another forum...

all I used was 1 cable tie, some rubber from a bike inner tube & ye old Super glue....

Worked a treat IMO

While I was making that my son broke the antenna on the controller.... I can never win, my kids brake everything. the last thing was the roof on the slash. grrr makes me so mad

HobbyKing. The only bad part was they were out of stock in the US warehouse, so I had to order them directly from Hong Kong. I ordered them on Feb. 14, still not here, lol.

Damm it, found my battery.... It was im my 7yo's coin purse, I think my 2yo put in there. well im back in action.

Ive been having fun taping up the tyres with PVC tape, and doing some little drifts lol highly recomend. wet tiles are good for some big drifts

glad to see someone having better luck than myself. apparently the connectors are male on the lipos i ordered, not female like expected. so tomorrow i will have to go to the LHS and buy some female connectors since i got male ones before. really makes me mad, they should say something about that. i am doing a review on Modelkits.com of them so i will be sure to note that. did i mention i am now a writer for modelkits.com?
