Could you use Li-Polys in a Mega Brushless 16/15/4? I like the light weight of those batteries.

Yes, you can use them in any Mega motor. Pick a cell that you like and then design your pack based upon needed current delivery and flight time.

Good luck!

As an example, the Mega 16/15/4 can draw up to 25amps so you need a pack that can handle that current level reasonably well.

A Kokam 1200HC cell can supply 6amps continuous and a 3s pack will give you a voltage similar to a 10-cell NiCd pack.

A 3s pack weighs about 3oz and a 3s4p (4 packs of 3s in parallel) will provide 24amps continuous at a weight of about 12oz and have a total capacity of 4800mAh.

Compare this to a 10-cell CP2400 pack at 21.6oz.

The Lithium pack weighs almost 10oz less and provides twice the flight duration!

The bad news is that the Lithium pack costs about $210.

thanks, something more to think about!
