that's a good price and if you have hop ups i'd go for it.
i almost got that but got the mbx pro instead because even hobby people had almost no hop ups for the xtm and it's their brand.

suppossedly that is to change soon with the release of the deluxe version.

the x-terminator is an excelent buggy i was going to buy one but wanted a mugen instead. it got #1 in rc car action when they tested all the RTR buggys. The deluxe version will be out this month which will mean the addition of hop-ups. hobby people carries all the replacment parts for the XTM brand.

btw you said ofna mbx5 do you mean the ofna mbx, ofna 9.5 or the mugen mbx5

if its just the mbx definatly go with the xterminator its more worth the cash. and if you could save up a little bit more for the deluxe that would be even better and faster as the engine is even upgraded

actually the deluxe version has a reworked .247 engine i believe it is the pro version, CF upgrades, thicker shock towers, and a high torque steering servo i believe are all the upgrades but if you are looking to get started then the basic version is the way to go

i have been extremely happy with the ultra mbx pro.
it suppossedly is coming with the .26 now as well.

i have put it through some serious abuse and have not had anything go wrong yet.
slammed out of control after cartwheeling into walls. 30 foot plus in the air jumps off 3 foot ramps.

worst thing i had go wrong with it was a run away but with a fail safe and 60 dollars in parts it was back up in going after being sanwhiched in half.

the worst thing since then was a stripped plastic piece which was under 10 dollars to by a bag of extras and that was landing from a 10 foot ramp and kartwheeling all the way down, i was shocked that was the only damage.

the shocks are actually even beefier then the hyper 7 ones as well which is a damn good thing, i have bent my hyper 7 ones doing much less.

as far as a beginner/ basher buggy this thing works great.

for the price it's hard to beat as well.

the Xterminator seems to be good to but i have only seen two in action , both seemed fast as the ulta mbx pro yet the driver seemed to complain and have issues with the engine, i think that is why they did a redesign on the engine for the deluxe, or so i have read.

the ulta mbx pro sells for about 330 so it is less as well.

personally go with whatever you can get parts for local .
if you have hobby people around i assume you are in cal?
what part? jaxx and others do caryy ofna stuff plus they are in laguna beach.

although the guy named stever there is a real ass.

then go with the xtm, almost the same car.

although you might not break them often, if you are like me you prefer just going in and picking up the parts when needed.

you know what guys I have recongized that its pretty hard buy a crappy buggy. Alot of companies make crappy ST and crappy TCs but it seams that everyone who makes buggies makes them really tough. I wish they would do that with all kind of cars lol.

thats exactly y i refuse to buy anything other than a buggy or a good mt...even then the MT seem to break more parts. I just dun understand looking at the a-arms on a buggy then seeing a rc10gt a-arm...its like mike tyson VS bill gates lol

i got my mbx4 today and was not used to the power it had compared to my gt lx and i slammed the right front into a tree and was positve i broke sumthing kause the stearing wasn't right...looked it all over not even a sctrach but come to find out the previous owner strung the servo wire near the spur gear and it chewed it up. a quick soldering job i was back out flying around again no probs
