These are great questions. I had passed them to our designers. As far as I know, these sections of cockpits can be trimmed and adjusted to fit the plane's final configuration. The seats can be moved back and forth. We will leave it to the customer to decide where to put it.

It's a George Bush pilot. He is taller than the Chinese MiG Pilot Wang Hai.

To save weight on my own plane, I plan to modify George and make him lighter.

Status: offline 		Has anyone used the third tank(the rectangle one) and if so where did you install it? Anyone got an idea of what the total fuel is in the 2 conformal tanks?

Status: offline 		Each conformal saddle tanks hold 44 oz. The 3rd tank is optional for either smoke or extra fuel.

Status: offline 		I didn't use the third tank on the first Mig, but the kidney tanks are short in length and tall, so the clunks will struggle to get all the fuel out. (Mike how do you get on?)
I used Felt clunks on each to help and didn't have a problem on the flight I had, but flight time is going to be around 6 mins and this is too short for me!

I will use the third tank as Mike shows on the new Mig.

today maiden flight is done.
No any problem, the MiG 15 flies great.
I think, the Merlin 100 ist the best choise for the MiG.
The new springs for the main LG are
1,4mm spring steel
34mm long and
8 1/2 turns
I got the spring from a friend.

This is not a FEibao MiG. Feibao MiG is slighter bigger. This Global Jet MIG is 1/6 scale and it is designed by Dorian Anderson who is a professional Hollywood model builder who worked on Top Gun and Iron Eagle.

We have taken a very slow and careful step in development of this project so that we can ensure that the quality and flight performance are well done before it's marketed actively.

We are waiting for Dave Wilshere to complete his flights too.

Christian's version is our heavier dutiy version that we originally designed for the USA market. We have shifted the CG back to more appropriate location so landing it won't be an issue as verified by Christian. It seems we have nailed the correct CG for this plane.

Status: offline 		Well I thought it was ready but my fuel pump is shot so I've overnighted a replacement that should be here tomorrow. Anyway mine came out at 23 lbs with full UAT and no fuel in the main tanks. I'm using a P70 for power.

Status: offline 		I have just started to put mine together. It is a very nicely and well made aircraft. Still waiting for the cockpit though. A few issues have arisen. The JR servo 3421 does not fit in the horizontal stab with the servo arm facing the stab root. I had to place the servo arm side into the stab. It fits nicely and completely as you can see in the picture. Another item is the main landing gear inboard door. I needed to adjust them as the leading edge was open about 3/16 in. or more in the closed position. I found that, on both left and right doors, the inner skin was either cracked or completely missing pieces where the hinge bolt is attached. The outer skin is in good condition but I would not trust it to hold the door on. I reinforced the inner skin by epoxing fiberglass patches to the hinge attachment points. Last item is that the right main landing gear wheel was hitting the inboard door on retraction. I had to move the actuator inboard by 1.5 mm on the the fiberglass bracket. Now it all works fine.

Your MiG is in the PLAAF (People's Liberation Army Air Force/ Chinese) markings while Christian's is in N. Korean markings.  The schemes are different also.  Note that a MiG, in your scheme, has been recently transported from the Intrepid aircraft carrier exhibit  (in NYC) to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum (ESAM) in Glenville, NY.  I viewed the MiG on the ramp at the museum last week but had a technical malfunction with my camera.  I can revisit ESAM and collect some photos if desired.  Please send me a PM if interested.

Last Saturday it was THE day, the Mig had it's maiden flight. Everything checked, and ready to go, Full throttle (P100RX) she needed around 90 meters to lift of grass with takeoff flaps selected (14 mm flaps) during the climb her weight was clearly present, she flew heavy. Aileron response was very quick, but manageable. Elevator was very nervous but again manageable. Flaps retracted changed the pitch of the plane slightly downwards, as expected. After four race tracks and some trim (about 4 clicks of right trim) I decided to select full flaps and do some approaches, mind you gear was never retracted. Full flaps needed some down elevator (around 20%) but this offset was already dialed in. First approach was too fast, she does not want to slow down even with full flaps (48 mm flaps) I did not want to use the airbrakes since I had not tried these. Go around … Next approach still too fast, during go-around my TX started beeping, 5 minutes engine running (I had 2.4 liters on-board), so this time landing needed to be for real. Downwind leg, turning to Base, Disaster struck ...flame-out ….. low, slow and dirty …. she stalled within the second … right spin, recovered, but no speed/thrust, immediate left spin …... well the rest you can guess..... ground jumped up ….. total loss.

8 months of waiting, 8 months of building, 4 minutes of flying ….... what is wrong in this picture …
well it happens right, first crash in years for me, but nevertheless I am still a bit heartbroken.

Turbine seems to be ok, but send it back to JetCat for full check. The rest of the equipment... I dont know yet …. Body of the plane was completely demolished, none of the formers survived the crash, wings were split open well you get the picture …

Dont know why the engine had a flame-out, there was still fuel in header and main tanks, must have been an air bubble or something like that, Murphy I guess.

Bottom-line:
She flies, but be aware she IS (too?) heavy (mine was 10.8 kilos dry, 13 kilos wet), she has a nasty stall (tip stall) ending in a slow spin. (original had same stall characteristics). Keep her well above stall speed and be aware the stall speed is higher than you might expect and she does not give any warning signs. Due to the nervousness on elevator I cant help to think that the CG between 6” and 5,5” is too far back. (Mine was 5,75” with empty tanks gear down and full header)

Sad end of a beautiful plane, I really loved her ….
