    Benzi,
I'm sure you could....the cowl is huge....it makes a .46 2-stroke look tiny......The head of my TT Pro .46 does not stick out of the cowl at all.........your .70 might come very close, or stick out just a tad.

It will stick out a little. I put one(OS 70 II) in mine and the valve cover sticks out a bit. I moved my rudder and elevator servos to the rear. It balanced perfectly. If you mount it inverted it is possible that you could conceal the engine entirely.

I got Phoenix Sukhoi in late December and flew it last week. Put a SAITO .91 four-stroke on the nose and the elevator and rudder servos on the tail. Unlimited vertical and awsome performance. Will post pics soon.

I have a few flights on mine now. the second time I put it up I found out that I didn't tighten the nuts on the axles. One wheel and the pant fell to the ground right in front of me. I landed the sukhoi with one mian gear wheel. As soon as it touched the ground(very gently I might add) the gear without the wheel dug into the grass and the plane flipped over. Vey little dammage. a scratch on the wingtip, a small crack in the gear block(CA-fixed). The Pant that fell off split down the seam so I'll just epoxy it back. I was very lucky, but the plane has to be sturdy to take the kind of hit it took. I've flown it several times after putting the wheel back on. Flies great with a OS 65 LA and Master Airscrew 12X6 with yellow tips. I also got a little bigger spinner than the instructions call.

Phoenix Models SU-31 with Saito .91 4-Cycle. It's a tight fit but doable with some planning. As they say...measure twice and cut once!

What is everyone running for control throws? Mine flew for the first time back in August with a Magnum 61 4 on it and it was very hard to handle. The test pilot had to use full rudder to get it back to the ground. It was really unstable. I did have my throws REALLY high so I ended up dialing htem back to what is listed in the maual. I have not had it up since I made those changes. Anyone have any addtioan l thoughts??

    Thanks.

Did you have any expo? I flew an airplane today and forgot to program any expo. Makes it dicey, to say the least. Maybe start out with 25-30% on the rudder and elevator and 35-45%om the ailerons.

I use the reccomended throws no expo balanced at the forward cg. Then again I run a 12 oz tank so on takeoff I'm REALLY nose heavy. No instability.

I actually used less expo on my ailerons.....more on the elevator...it seems the most touchy. I had my high-rate elevator set up slightly higher than the manual's recommendation and it wanted to snap with full up. The elevator is VERY sensitive, keep the throws low on it.

I can't wait to get mine, I want to measure the clearance of the cowl to crank centerline. If there is the room I will go with the .60 two stroke I also have laying around. Pretty soon the ups guy will show up with the box and I'll dive right in and get down to business. Here's the motor options I have on hand, HP .40, MDS .48, HB .60. , I plan on changing wheels, tank and tinting the canopy just a tad to hi-light it, standard servos thru-out and a 800 mah pack. I still have to finish my GSP Zero, but I need a beater plane to take to the field instead of my larger planes, too much set-up.

Hello guys, i recently ordered a Funstar 3D ARF ...haven't assembled it yet because iv been working on other planes, but just a question for you guys, just by looking at the Phoenix Models airplanes i noticed they are really nicer than you'd think, and i think I'm thinking about buying another plane from Phoenix, but it has to be able to do 3D like the funstar, do you think the Giles 202 46 ARF and the Sukhoi SU-31 46 ARF that they sell are capable of flying 3D? does anybody have any pics of them flying/doing 3D if so how do they fly...fill me in...thanks

squirt, I've been flying scale aerobatics with my sukhoi, BUT, the control surfaces are pretty big...I think that with the right throws and enough power, it could 3D.....

    planebuilder66,

I have an OS 65LA in mine. There's plenty of room in the cowl for whatever you want. It's huge.

    Boeing767PF,

I use a lot of expo on everything I fly on ailerons and elevator. Every time I let someone else fly my planes they comment on the "funny controls". It just feels good to me. I like to be smoth even at high rates. It also seems to help "dumb thumbs" and mistakes. If your mistakes aren't as bad they're easier to correct.
