Everyone must either be out playing with their XS's or at work dreaming about playing with their XS like I am doing....

At least one of us is dreaming about how we can get $300 together to visit your LHS that still has an XS in stock...

hey guys my lhs just put my Savage XS on hold for me and will pick it up after work (yaay). Just wondering if stock gearing should be enough or already optimal on SPC 6000mAh, 30C, 2S, 7.4V?

That should be fine if the battery fits in the battery compartment.

in theory it should: 138.5mm long x 46mm wide x 24.5mm deep

good news its perfect fit! the xs is as everyone says it is tough, fast and fun to play with. However my xs steers to the left even when I set the steering option on the included remote to counter it. Any way to fix it? is it a servo issue? this is how it come out of the box

I just recieved my HPI FLUX XS yesterday. Read all the instructions, set it up as directed. I put in a 3S 30C battery and ran it for about 2 minutes and was just doing some fine tuning on the steering. When I brought it back to me for a adjustment the truck started to smoke. I removed the top and the wires melted right out of the ESC. Now no more fun. I barely got started. I called HPI and I am sending the ESC back to them so they can send me a new one. It just sucks that I have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks to have some fun. HPI customer service rocks so far and was really helpfull.  The shipping to IRAQ is pretty fast but I will just have to wait around to see if a new ESC will fix the problem. I just hope that there is nothing else wrong besides that.

Remove the servo horn from the servo and recenter the servo and then re-attach the servo horn.

WOW... Red, I am sorry to hear your ESC went smoking.... I think I will stay away from the 3s lipos until they get the problem fixed. But you know when they released the Flux there were issues with that ESC going up in smoke to. After a 1.5 years the ESC in my Flux quit but it never smoked..

HPI has been having a lot of issues! I seen it on mine and read in a lot of forums this issue is becoming a common problem. HPI needs to fix this....if castle is having issues...switch to a better ESC. Mine melted and burned up after about 3 minutes of use. It is ridiculious...This should not happen!

What other forums have you read that this is a common problem? Any issues I have ever had with HPI or Castle they have gladly fixed no questions asked.

Hey guys, I was thinking about the issue of the ESC's going up in smoke.

Has anyone changed the settings on the ESC before they ran it on 3s?

My esc had a dim red light after running two times. Sent it back to castle. I installed a Mamba pro max now every thing is good.

Crappy, Red.  I am definitely starting mine with the mamba max pro in it.  I am also thinking of putting the SCT motor in it right away too to go with what I know has been solid.  If the stock ESC is weak, though, I should probably put it in something and see if it goes too since I don't want a weak ESC around.

Not as of friday morning, I bet its there monday. Doesn't matter, I'm away for two weeks.   There must be something different with the ESC than a regular sidewinder.  They've been on the market for a while before this without issues.

I have heard that the HPI branded ESC's are way behind on Castles software updates, Like no troque control etc. Maybe the older software is the problem.
