I've noticed that some of the plastic parts on this truck break fairly easy when its cold out. the only parts i have broken are the plastic piece that screws on the bottom of the shock shaft. went through 2 of them in 4 days, and i barely jump the truck!

I broke those when it was warm out its just a weak point, replace with traxxas or rpm ends and no more breakage.

RPM makes those? just to make sure we're on the same page, the plastic at the bottom of the shock shaft that the hex screw goes through to connect it to the a-arm. is there a link to anything that i can replace so i can get the right part?

RPM makes them for traxxas but pretty much any ends from a 1/10 scale shock should work. I have traxxas ends on the back I had a couple in my parts box but I put RPM #80472 on the front. I broke them 3 times before I changed the ends and they have held up since.

Jeep, page 92.

How is it holding up compared to the stock body?

I haven't driven it yet and am keeping it until the original body fully dies.  I don't have high hopes for it lasting long, it sits quite a bit above the chassis compared to the factory body.

There hasn't been enough time to install the swaybars on mine yet.  Hopefully this weekend.

I soldered a texin RX-8 system last night for someone.  First time doing one of those.  I took my time and it took a few hours because I was careful with cooling when it came mounting the wires to the ESC posts and to get everything pretty and clean.  More work than I expected but it worked out well.

My savage XS is still in transit... Hope it will arrive soon...if not...it is lost somewere in the globe

But....the mmp and the SCT 4-Pole 1410 3800KV Motor arrived yesterday.....The wires are very long...is there a problem if I cut the engine wires?..it could be almost 3 inches shorter... what do you recomend?

Thanks

Our stock bodies are getting pretty beat up so I was thinking of using the 1/10 crawler bug body for our XS's. What do you guys think?

You can cut them no problem.  My friend cut his and I left mine long and found a creative way to wrap them.  QBase ESCs are nice because the motor wires mount directly to the ESC to the wires can be a little longer.

Bug body looks good.  Is that an e-maxx to the left?

I put my swaybars on tonigh.  It took 15 minutes and it was pretty easy.  I can feel a lot more resistance when trying to lean the truck sideways now.  I thought a front and rear set were needed but you just need one.  I bought an extra.  No test drive, I have to do some work tonight.

Ok this shold be an interesting topic starter...

Of all the XS owners, who has got the fastest one(with proof)?
And who has got the most badas* looking one?

Im not going to try to get the fastest as I only run 2s, but I think my XS is pretty nice (see pics on previous pages/posts. the one with badlands)

Mine is fast enough for me and I usually leave my RC's stock unless it is one of my scalers/crawlers or on-road car. So I probably won't win anything for the most "badass XS"..

Just ordered a Savage XS SS. Couldn't get myself to order the RTR knowing all of the issues I *could* have with the ESC and the fact that the stock servo is garbage didn't really help either. Now I get to build it myself, choose reliable electronics, get CVD's, upgraded turnbuckles, aluminum shocks, and again I get to build if myself lol. Can't wait!!!

That should do good in the Savage XS right since it's 3500kv and 70A should be enough for it to run without too much heat provided I'm geared correctly right. Going to run on 2S...

I will be the first to have video proof.  51mph.  3s, SCT 3800/MMax pro, thunderpower 65C 3s 4300 mAh battery, stock gearing, 2.2" dirtworks tires.
Let me get good pics of mine with the new body. I think its pretty badass looking.

lol, I saw that vid and thats what made the choice easy to get a xs.  I told my buddy if that was my 1 16 summit that did that it would be a total loss.  love the video though!  laughed so hard when I first saw it, though for sure it was busted all to heck

I defiantly we not win fastest, maybe most travelled.   I have 2, both aren’t moving anywhere.  They have been with HPI in California for the last month and a half.  They could have drove them there myself and back in the amount of time it seems to get HPI to ship them back.  There Tech John, told me almost 2 weeks ago that they were tested and working and shipping out that night.  Now I cant get a response from them.

But in the 5 minutes they were working(Christmas day), i was impressed.  Couldn't give it more than 1/2 throttle without it flipping over.
