who wants to see an unboxing ?

Will you loctite the pinion? Just curious...

I haven't ordered one yet I want to wait until a few more spare parts are available. When I do get one I more than likely will use loctite on the pinion but this is something that should not have to be done until you decide you want the pinion off, when you put it back is when u should need to use loctite not straight out of the box. I believe that all RTRs should be just that. You should be able to run them for hours without a problem straight out of the box unless you cause the problem buy jumping it or crashing it.

t9, if I remember rightly, you've done a few vids in the past. We're counting on you.

Yes, I have done vids in the past.. And yes I will do some of the XS too... But it probably won't be until the weekend. Because after I pickup the XS I have to work at the second job and then after work tomorrow at the first job I have a football game to go.

Wha!? C'mon man get your priorities straight...We need a great bash session.

LOL... I do have my priorities straight... but when your son is the starting varsity QB and he light up the skies in the first game with 434 yards passing, you really don't want to miss the next game...

There is only enough space for one full size 2s lipo in the battery compartment.

I have a small issue with one of my XS's. I can not get the esc to respond to the transmitter. I did try a different receiver and radio and everything worked just fine.

Try setting the throttle endpoint a little further.

I would if I was getting a response from the radio to the esc and steering servo. I tried again this morning and I think the receiver and transmitter are not bond together because I am not getting any response from the esc or the steering servo. Now if I use my Wraith radio and receiver or MX3 radio and receiver everything works just fine. I have also looked thru the manual and can't find any info on how to bind the receiver and radio.

Why is is that I am a nitro guy but I cannot wait to get one of these?  I'm selling off a bunch of parts and pieces I have laying around, and once I have the money in my Paypal account to pay for this with funds raised strictly from selling off old stuff I am getting one! Hopefully stock will be plentiful by then and I can "justify" spending the money on one.

Had to re-bind the receiver and radio. Now everything works perfect. I called HPI to help with the issue and I am the second person to call in with a binding issue with the receiver and radio.

This was a common problem with the new gen firestorms....They did not bind them at the factory.

Sounds like turning the torque control down via the castle link my help alot.

Redfisher,
You are absolutel right that detuning the ESC would help...  but that would take the fun out ot it!

BTW, I watched your video - you have got an awesome bashing spot!

t9dragon,
Glad you got the radio issue figured out.  Even with these radios coming out of China, it's rare to get one DOA!

So, after putting another 5,000mA pack through the truck I seem to have worn or loosened the slipper out of adjustment.  It didn't sound like the pinion came loose but the truck would barely move and the slipper was making that whirring sound.  I reached a finger in toe see if the slipper "felt" loose and found the outputs hotter than a pistol!  I am not sure when it worked loose as it ws doing wheelies at will earlier in the pack!

Still loving it and will attempt to tighten up the slipper tonight.

TC
